WARNING: This app doesn't work on macOS!
MockSMTP is a native Mac application that embeds its own SMTP server. It also features an e-mail client browser, enabling instant viewing of both raw content and HTML rendering, so you can see how your mail looks when delivered.
Configuration couldn't be simpler: just run the application and everything's set up. You don't even need an internet connection for it to work!
WARNING: Default data directory is now Library/Application Support/MockSmtp/ instead of Documents/Mocksmtp

Great app for web developers! - This is an excellent application for web developers. It's easy to set up and works as promised.
Do not buy unless dev updates - Honestly, this program is great, and does exactly what it says it does. I use[d] it often in my development workflow. However, it will not launch on Sierra. If the developer updates it, I will give it 5 stars, but for now, do not purchase it!

WARNING: This version does not work on macOS Sierra - The app won’t start. It has not been updated since 2011 and the developer has removed the support/feedback form from his website.
Works Great! Way Too Expensive. - The app works as advertised. I found no issues in the software at all. However, for a developement tool that serves a single function, it costs too much, especially when compared with other tools that do much much more.
doesnt work on sierra - this is a great app please updste it or hand the code off to someone who will!
It works - It's simple and it's a GUI. Yes everyone knows that OSX comes with postfix or similar tool, but when I'm having to learn yet another library / framework / language; I'd rather keep stuff like this basic and brainless. (Besides I'm not going to run my own SMTP server in production anyways.) It does what it advertises. I think the developer dropped the price in half but I'm sure it's still too pricey for most people, hence the lack of 5 stars. For me, it's worth the money for the convenience and time it saves.
Simple and effective - Was considering writing a mock server in Python or Node, or even plunking down $20 for OS X server to configure its SMTP to do the job this app does out of the box. I would lose more than $10 worth of my time setting something like that up instead of just buying this app. Works perfectly and does just what I needed.
