Exactly what I needed - Been using VirtualDJ free for a couple of months and just bought a Verstax Spin which comes with djay. Djay doesn't show wave forms despite the two-year-old demand for an update (it has them in the iPad version!) and VirtualDJ wants me to upgrade to pro ($300!) if I want to use the Spin (less than $300!) for more than ten minutes. What's a hobbyist house DJ to do? Download Mixxx, which syncs pretty nicely with the Spin, though not perfectly (I'm giving five stars in hopes that we get beat-loops!). I'm able to fast forward a lot more easily with the jog controls compared to djay and for the most part the program uses the same controls though I'm still figuring out scratching. I've only played around with it for a day, but already I'm excited about the possibilities from the four cue points (the others only have three!) and the wave form rendering that makes syncing tracks a cinch which as a beginner I really appreciate. I'm not going to the clubs anytime soon (read: never), but as someone who wants to mix like a pro without paying $300 for software or $750 for hardware, Mixxx with the Spin is the best option around right now. And Mixxx is open source! Thanks guys - this app perfectly fulfills what I wanted: low-budget MIDI-controlled DJing with waveforms for free.

Awful DJ software, dont bother - This DJ software is not good at all, i agree with all the other 1 star reviews, this software is awful, people who rated 5 stars on this thing, either dont know what DJ software actually is or that they think that this is all that there is to it, this software is not something that someone without DJ experience can figure out right away. There are features lacking from it. Do yourself a favor and download Virtual DJ (also on the App Store) AND FREE. That software is a lot better than this junk, or if you feel like paying for something, buy DJay, its simple to use, for the begginer type of person, and way less complicated than this software, but not better than Virtual DJ.

Great Audio Software! - I think this is an excellent piece of audio software. Originally ported from Linux, they add more than enough features for DJ's to work with. In the technical audio section, you have controls for the balance (panning), separate and master volume controls, separate play controls, ability to use a pitch bend to give a DJ effect (with an appropriate controller), as well as a built-in sampler to add your own sounds instantly. On the music library side, it integrates with iTunes PERFECT, and allows you to add other folders as well for the library function. One thing I'd like to note is that Mixx has FULL MIDI SUPPORT. If you have a USB MIDI controller for DJ's, you can use the custom mapping function in the menus to tell it what buttons you would like to configure to what function.

The Best! - This app is nothing short of amazing! I have never had an interest in djing whatsoever. However, this app makes learning and advancing your dj skill incredibly easy. Like anything else there is a learning curve. but after playing with this app for only 15 minutes I was mixing, crossfading, looping and adding effects to some of my favorite music. There's even a record feature that allows you to record your sessions in different formats (yes, including .wav .MP3) An hour into using this app, i was literally laughing out loud at my own creations. I haven't had this much fun using a free app EVER! Thank you to the developers for offering this free of charge. If you update the software in the future, include a donation link or button, I will gladly give generously to support your awesome work and keep this app free!

All in One - I downloaded countless mixing programs like Virtual DJ Home and Djay, both of them cost me some money but then I realised that Mixxx had all I needed from the start, including a two audio output option out of the box. Amaizing program!!!
