The Most Important App for Artists Ever - Your new Indispensable tool. Photoshop killer. Revolutionary. Vector-based drawing with soft brushes. No more 3-5GB lossy psds. Forget all that. Legacy Mischief was impressive already, but this update brought some really pretty surprises, such as setting the lowest and highest point of your brush to set its softness, detachable UI I’d venture out as far as to say it’s definitely the most important app to the creative industry of all time and the $25 pricetag is certainly a statement. The only way the app could be better was with a dark-ui option, but this software is just so great it doesn’t matter. Oh my god, the way you can drag the color to your little palette. My head went kaboom! So cool! Oh, and, sexy icon! Haha!

its not working! - I just bought it 2 days a ago, I have Yosemite, and I used the program twice (which I loved using btw) but since then I have not been able to reopen the program and use it anymore. I’m very frustrated. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and restarted the computer, just wont work. Very disappointed. WIll upgrade rating once it actually works.

Decent software, but worth the price - I’ve been usin' Mischief for a while. It’s great to ink sketches in, but the lack of layer type (multiply, specifically) makes it fall short in comparison to other drawing applications like Paint Tool Sai or Photoshop. The pen pressure is great and lines are typically pretty clean, but the zoom feature is sometimes maddeningly laggy and blending colors is also pretty difficult. Opacity can only do so much! Layer types, @Mischief team! I’m tellin ya! It’ll change the whole game.

Best controls for a sketching app! - Mischief's methods for zooming and rotating the canvas are so intuitive that I never want to use anything else for sketching. Positioning the canvas to make smooth curves with the natural motion of the wrist has never been easier. Gosh, though, I wish they would make a raster variant of Mischief! As of right now it's necessary to flatten, export and import your work from time to time—otherwise the overwhelming number of strokes on the screen cause the responsiveness of the app to go way down. Another reason to make a raster variant of Mischief is that a smudge tool could then be added. Still, this is a five star app because its controls are so much better than those of the competition.

No selection tool…the one tool I needed! - It has layers and such but the brushes are so simplistic and not helpful for my shading style. No “magic” selection or lasso tool for fast coloring within lineart and creating blocked shadows. Not worth my $25 :/

Math made easy - Using this program with a HUION touchpad and it’s the best tool I’ve ever had for math. Not having to try and fit/neatly arrange a problem into a limited amount of space has changed everything. All those pointless arithmetic and handwriting errors? They pretty much go away once you no longer have to rewrite or break up problems. Graphs that used to just be practice problems? If you make the axis one color and the line(s) different colors, suddenly they make sense like seeing a chameleon lose its camouflage. Have to draw a flowchart for CS or a stick figure physics diagram? Pushing extra hard to make thick lines on the key parts is almost as good as having a tutor remind you to double check. Only thing I wish it had was a way to cluster things and export as a pdf so I could easily send homework and examples. But, it’s still less time and writing to recopy it neatly by hand than to solve it peicemeal on paper. To all the artists out there, you’d be amazed at how good you are at science once you turn the “problems” into pictures!
