MiniUsage displays various data like CPU usage, amount of network flow, battery status and process names which uses much CPU time in a menubar. It takes little space and can display various data, so it's suitable for notebook.

While the application is running, this information can be referred via AppleScript.

If you like this software, I'd like to ask to make small donation to help effort for the Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster.

Release Notes:

Added function to display multiple data on menubar.

Great & Useful - This is one of those apps you don't know how much you'll use until you start using it. I mainly use MiniUsage for internet activity monitoring, but the process history is also a huge plus. One bug I've noticed is that it occasionally uses 100% of a single core's power, but restarting the app fixes that. If you don't have this yet, download now!

Huge memory and process pig. - The app has some serious memory problems that can cause a system to eventually crash. On my MBP with 8GB, first thing the app does is consume 11GB of virtual memory (THATS RIGHT, 11GB, as reported by top). Every second it runs it chews up 4-8KB of additional physical RAM that it never releases (or at least never released on my system) Sorry, can not recommend this program except for short-term use. Too bad. I liked it. Hopefully the developer reads this and gets a memory leak checker, and rethinks the architecture. There is no reason why this application can't have a memory footprint 1000X smaller, but the way it is written is a flawed design so it will continuously consume more physical and virtual memory as long as you let it run. Not only doesn't it get the information directly via system calls (the way you are supposed to do this), but it actually launches internal apps and command-line programs and parses the output to get the answers. This generates so much additional overhead that the program itself skews the results it displays. If you want to know details then just enter top or ps -ef from command line, and you will get more information then this program supplies for process & memory.

Just what I needed but as previously posted uses a TON of memory - I wanted something that displayed CPU usage at the top of the screen in the bar and this does that. I was very happy until I noticed it was using 19Gig of Virtual memory only 3 minutes after I started it up. It slowly got worse. If this problem was fixed iw ould give this 5 stars, but the fact that something you want to monitor your memory is the program eating it up is not a good thing… at all… Fix that and you get 5 stars.

Was wonderful, but won’t work with new OS X - I have loved and used this app for a while, but it hasn’t been updated to work at all with sierra OSX. Sad.

Very useful app - My only request would to be able to set the default display stat to be total memory usage as one of the options. Another minor item would be displaying the private/public IP within the network items.

Version 2 causing Console messages about SMC on 2011 MBP - Typical message: Oct 1 11:47:44 Pops-MacBook-Pro kernel[0]: SMC::smcReadKeyAction ERROR F1Sf kSMCBadArgumentError(0x89) fKeyHashTable=0x0xffffff8046b74000 Turning off the app stops this. This message is for the fans management. The fans appear to be operating properly, just the app's monitoring function appears to trigger the error. So, using this can cause some concerns if you use the Console app for anything.

perfectly useful - oh my, this application has taken many things that I utilize to monitor all types of data and puts the information I need into one easily accessible place, I have been waiting a long time for such a simplistic solution, and now it is here, thank you!
