Excellent app...and no user guide was needed! - I just installed this app today, and have already made two mind maps without any difficulty. It is a very intuitive, and simple to use app. Best of all…the thing is totally UNCLUTTERED with a bunch of confusing choices. Although I used some of the drop-down menus, this was mainly because I was curious to learn what my options were. Doing so was not necessary to ending up with a good-looking mind map. The vast majority of my work was accomplished simply by paying attention to the on-screen symbols and using common sense…i.e. point & click, drag & drop, fill in the blanks, etc. I heartily recommend this app to anyone wishing to brainstorm ideas and get organized!

Version 1.11.2

Taking a page from Realmac developers playbook—DO NOT BUY! - I had previousy written a review for this app singing its praises for being a wonderful tool for capturing ideas and for concept mind mapping. With the release of the version 2.0 for the app, I find myself again writing a review but not to sing the praises of the developers, instead to criticise a very underhanded move on their part. I have been a loyal user of MindNode Pro and have at every opportunity encouraged my fellow classmates to purchase and use this app for its simplicity and ability to outline material in a clean and clear format. Having paying customers pay yet again for the 2.0 release from the 1.11.2 version is a tactic that Realmac developers use with their app Clear and on principle I did not purchase thier “new” app. The developers have likely alienated a solid and loyal user base with this update. The once loyal user and advocate of this app as I once was, will now be sure to not let anyone use this app for the unscrupulous tactic to monitise on new and exisiting users of the app. What are you have done in 2.0 is I am sure some fantastic coding to improve performance and end user experience, but it is not that significant to warrant to have your existing paid users to have to hand over $20 for this upgrade. You guys at IdeasOnCanvas may very well have shot the goose that laid your golden egg. Rectify before you end up on the losing side with your revnue tactic.

Version 1.11.5

No Support After You Pay For It. - What a lousy thing to do to people who purchased your app, stop supporting them and try to sell them Version 2 of the same app at full price again. I purchased the ‘Pro’ version so that I would not get nickeled and dimed, plagued with ads, etc. I also purchased the iOS version as well, so all my devices would stay in sync and be useful. Now, you stop the Pro version and create a ‘MindNode 2’ that is essentially the same product with new features that existing users have to pay for again? No. That is wrong. I understand devs need to eat, but why should existing customers who have ALREADY paid you have to pay FULL PRICE for the entire app a second time? What happened to upgrade pricing? I would support your efforts and development work with that business model, but not this sneaky, underhanded ‘Version 2’ nonsense. At this point, anyone who buys ‘Version 2’ deserves to get scammed when you do the same thing again with ‘Version 3’. I loved your product, but with your rotten business practices I am now being forced to look for another mindmapping app.
