Best music file metadata editor on OS X - On Windows, the best metadata editor around is mp3tag. Unfortunately, mp3tag doesn't develop an OS X version of mp3tag, so the only way to use it is by using Wine. This doesn't produce the best results--crashes galore, for one thing. Thankfully, Metadatics is exactly the kind of metadata editor I was looking for. It allows me to edit all of those hidden tags that most other editors overlook--Copyright? Release date (and not just year)? All here. Kudos to the developer for a fine app that I was desperately in need of!

Looks Promising but does not work - I was able to make the changes to my music using the app. However whenever I would attempt to save the information, the app would crash and loose all of the edits. This happens every time I run the program.

How to remove characters from “File Name" - A lot of my files have “01” “02” “03” as text before the name of the track. I need to batch remove these characters, but there is no option for “File Name”. How can I batch remove these track numbers in the file name? EDIT…its under “file rename” im a jackass and this is a great app.

Best app I have purchased - This is without a doubt, the best app I have ever purchased using the app store or for any of my Macs. I have a 1TB+ flac server of every CD I own and loads of legally downloaded and shared music (Dead, WSP, Phish, etc. etc.) No app I have tried has been as powerful and accurate for fixing meta data as this one. I’m pretty careful when I rip now, but when I did the bulk of my library (all with XLD, and some back in 2001 on a Wintel machine with EAC) there were problems all over the place. I was able to clean up everything and re-sync my LMS server, Twonky server and Plex server in only 3 sessions. I would give this app 10 stars if I could. I just hope it stays this good.

This app used to be great…. - This app was amazing before a few updates ago, now, every time I go to use it, I get "Fetch error: 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable” at least 10 times before results will show up. After the results finally do show up (I sure hope they match becuase if not, that pain all over again) the matching gives the same error. Over and over and over and over and over. It’s been doing this for months now, I had just been hopeful that another update might’ve fix it. I still hold this app in high regards, it was a life saver, but pleeeeeeeeeeease fix it:(

Best option for Mac OS - I have used the PC software options for years. I have 150,000 ish tracks. This is the best option I found for tag editing music on the Mac. ROCK SOLID stability. Resize artwork function is AWESOME. -Almost everything I could ask for in a tagging application.

Don’t use this on video files - I’ve used this app for about a year and a half and have been very happy with it until this week. Google changed something in Chrome with the latest update which makes any video file you put on your website not play the video if you put in an artwork image. I also load my videos in a podcast so I need the artwork image in the video file and while the file plays fine in other browsers it will not play the video in Chrome. So if you create mp4 video files for your website and need to use the artwork image in the mp4 do not use this app. I emailed the developer with no response so far. I’ll update this review if it is ever fixed. Now if you don’t need to use this with video files it’s great and will work just fine for you. MP3 files, no problem.
