Great program… quick access to gmail - I have been using this program non-stop since i got it… i love that i can have quick access to my gmail without opening my web browser. There are two view modes one mobile-like and the full mode (the one use) that has all the features of normal gmail i recommend this to anyone who uses gmail a lot… great program
Liked it, but now I don't - It’s becomes worse than useless when it polls email so often that Google locks your account for one to 24 hours. When I think about, it’s not a lot diferent than another tab in my browser and that doesn’t get my email account locked. Here’s what Google says (without warning) Sorry. "To keep our systems healthy, Google has temporarily disabled your account. This primarily occurs when we detect unusually high levels of activity on your account. In most cases, it should take one hour to regain access. In rare cases, it can take up to 24 hours for access to be reinstated. We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Here are some reasons why this could have happened: Receiving, deleting, or downloading large amounts of mail via POP or IMAP in a short period of time. Sending a large number of messages to many people. Being logged into or synchronizing Gmail on many computers, clients, or mobile devices.” (a laptop, a desktop and a phone are too many devices apparently)

Good for a while, then... - I don’t know if anyone else had this issue, but lately this app has been messing up my laptop. It would have the spinny beach ball thing, my laptop fans would start blaring and they wouldn’t stop. I tried force quiting the application from the Apple menu, but the Apple menu didn’t show it as closable, so I just gave up on it. When the fans start blaring, spinny beach ball happens, computer works slower and it effects other applications as well by messing them up, not just with the speed. If you have this problem with this app, I don’t think there is any other way to fix it then to uninstall it, unfortunately.
Liked it…until google locked my account. - This app need the ability to set a amount of time between checking for gmail. I guess it checks constantly and so, I was locked out of my gmail account (like others) for about 4 hours. Had to delete the app. Hope an update comes with a choice to check every 5 or 10 or 15 minutes.
Great When Working - I have Sierra on my macbook pro (mid 2012), and this app works great when its actually working. There is an icon at the top of my screen that allows me to easily access my gmail and do basically everything I can do if I was using safari. The issue is, and it has been happening to me every day sometimes more than once, that it freezes on me and I have to refresh it or close it out and then open it again. This has happened to me in the middle of writing an email and I had to start the email all over again because it didn’t save to my drafts. It’s a great idea and very useful when working, but I can’t stand the freezing any longer. I’m switching to a competitor.
So simple and clean that I forget it’s their - Love this app. It works so well that I forget it’s not part of the operating system. Non-intrusive notifications. Easy to respond or compile a message. Automatically hides when I’m done with it.
Used to be good - locks up too often now - I’m constantly having to refresh the mail window these days. It locks up, not letting you slick to select checkboxes, mail messages, etc. A quick refresh works, but this hasn’t been updated in far too long, and this bug has been around longer than acceptable. Time to find something new. Steer clear if you have Sierra. Also is -very- greedy when it comes to resources. Constantly in my ‘using significant energy’ list.
