Useful for local PHP development - It is a very useful application for local development of PHP websites, without having to worry about installing Apache, MySQL, etc. The only problem is that it has some limitations related to editing config files, but that is due to sandboxing required for app store. You can download the app direclty from Bitnami and it does not have those limitations. It is great that the application is available for free, too
DOES NOT WORK IN YOSEMITE! - the title says it all.

Easy to set up a PHP dev environment quickly - Deploys a complete PHP dev environment almost instantly. Plays nicely with the OS. As mentioned by another reviewer, some limitations with respect to editing config files, but that is due to app store limitations and you can get the same package directly from BitNami for free if you don't want to deal with those.
Saved me a bunch of time around Apache/Mysql - I usually use ports or homebrew to get apache and mysql going, but I inevitably waste an hour googling around to get everything hooked up correctly. So much easier to click a few buttons and have it just work.
5.4.9 does not work properly with OSX Mavericks - The web server and the MySQL server start and stop randomly in Mavericks, making this application practically useless. The company has acknowledged the problem but at this time, no fixed version is available through the App Store.
Pretty Decent, but... - If you want to add any of the modules from the Bitnami site, you will have to replace your install with the one from their site. The module installer just doesn't understand this app store app. For what it is, it is great, but if you are look at this to be a jumping off point to install more modules, then go download from bitnami directly.
The best way to work with PHP on your mac - Getting Apache, MySQL, and PHP configured on a mac is no small feat. So don't bother! Use this instead. It is self-contained and thoughtfully built. It works when you need it to and goes away when you don't. What else could you wish for? Thanks, BitRock :)
