This App is Great - Although it’s really for interior design, I used it to design my own home. Even used printouts from it (along with consultation with my builder) which my builder used to build the home. I’ve really enjoyed this program as well. The things it can do are amazing and the price can’t be beat. I also love the ability to work with Google SketchUp models and import them into your project. That tremendously expands the 3D object library available for placement in your project. You can even work within SketchUp to modify one of their objects or create exactly what you need and then bring it over to Live Home 3D. That being said, I can think of a couple improvements. First, the roof tool. It has some limitations. You can’t just add the multi-gabled roof of your dreams. Not without some trickery and workarounds. And those can cause issues in other areas. Second, I know its really for interior design work, but its sooooo capable of doing more. It would be awesome if there was a way to edit the “grounds” of your project. As it stands, your only option is a perfectly flat one-plane topography. If only I could add some hills and valleys. Right now, if you want to have a basement, that basement can only be all below grade. You can’t make a garage/basement that is partially below grade. Third, and this applies to the program as an interior design app in my opinion, would be nice if there were a “layer” or something for electrical and plumbing layout. Those can be quite necessary for an interior remodel. Still, it’s hard to complain at this price point. Its an awesome program. I definitely recommend it.

TERRIBLE - I want a refund!! This program is one of the worst I’ve ever used for anything. It’s a fidgety mess with no way to keep any real accuracy in the design. It’s for people looking to try to design a room…not for those trying to plan any real remodelling or renovating or any type of construction in general. It makes the price all the more apalling. IRATE is how I would describe myself right now. DO NOT BUY!!!

Personall I love it., - I have been ussing versions of this for years. I am constantlly looking at lease spaces for my restaurant and recording studio. I will look at a place, spend time measuring, lay out a plan. With that i can really see, how many chairs and tables i can get in the place. How much will it cost to build. ( a personal estimate it does not calculate) When even I show a land lord they get excited. So excited in fact three places that I looked at took my ideas to convert the space. Like adding a window to let more light in, moving the water heater etc.. and im not a designer. However Im just a straight dude with not a lot of style, however over tiime I can make a room look amazing. We designed two burlesque clubs in St. Louis, and Im telling you they looked bad when we started. Then I take a wall, and say…. hmmm paint is cheap lets start with that. Wall paper) hmmm something is wrong change out this color. In the end with help from my wife, you tube, pintrest, google, etc, we come up with what looks designer on a shoe string budget. Also places I thought would work did not work. Like a recording studio, I always thingk I need 4000 square feet. I dont, I made a plan for a two shiping container studio that felt great. 650ish square feet. And the respect I get from investors is worth it. And it does take a lot of time, The cost is not a lot really, but they are like. ooo wow, very cool. So theboomboomroomstl dot com, look at photos. It was all done on this program. Only disclaimer is, I have never used another program. so I cant compare. It is easy to use. I made a 15 min how to video for a friend. (i dont make money on youtube) and its like 1 video. 15 minutes. And you are off and running. Drag and drop. Getting good at design takes time. Only negitve. you can waiste a lot of a day or week getting it right… however it saves the money of starting a business that would have failed. I learned that really really hard. To the people who make it. please make a ton of fun librarys., At that 10 dollar or less I an others will buy them. I want to but the plants and dont even need them. But really could use some updated colors, wall paper, textures like, all the shabby sheik stuff, all the repurposed wood that is so in style. More furniture, allot of it is kind of out or touch. Finding a normal table is hard. Also, light sources are kind of hard to edit. The shapes that you can turn into another shape, i forget which ones I could use more of, but there are some basics missing. The doors. They are almost all residential. I am still confused by the stairs. They are fun but it would be great if the amount of steps changed by how high it was. Being that a standard stet is say, 9 inches, i think, they it is is a 8 food rise it would be so many, and a 12 food would be so many. It seems like it just gets bigger. But more more more libray and textures. Creating textures is not easy and confusing even for someone who uses this a lot. Getting things to the right size and the right repeat.

Good App - It’s a good app but it’s got some limitations. Some are just minor things and some are important if you really want to use this professionally. Here’s a few: 1. You can’t customize keyboard shortcuts - It’d be great if we could assign/re-assign keyboard shortcuts but you’re stuck with the defaults. 2. You can’t rename categories. There’s only a delete function so you'd have to delete and re-create things. 3. You cannot add a title to grouped items and search for them later on. 3. There’s no Search Function for Material Library and Project Tree tab 4. No object designer so if you want a custom stairway, you’d have to either stick with the defaults or draw it per step one at a time using the Building Block which would be very time consuming. 5. You have no door opening control where you could open doors to specific angles. 6. No Landscape/Terrain Controls so you can only design a house on a flat ground. There’s a lot more but these are the top things in my list I wish they’ve added or plan to add.
