Let's Hear the Animals! (Animal Sounds) HD is an application developed especially for pre-school children to see beautiful pictures of their favorite animals while learning not only their sounds and names, but also how to use a computer!!
OS X Lion Tested and Compatible!
Let's Hear the Animals! (Animal Sounds) HD is also a bilingual educational tool. Children and adults can choose either the English or Spanish version. Simply click on the Spanish flag button and the animal's name will switch to Spanish and if they click each animal's name button, they will hear the name spoken by a native Spanish speaker. Click the US flag button and it immediately reverts back to the English name and pronunciation. It could not be simpler!
It is also a wonderful and fun way to introduce a mouse or trackpad to your child. Please note: Beta testers familiar with the iPad and iPhone versions tried to tap the screen of the IMacs, so I recommend you walk them through it the first few times.
Optimized for Lion OS!!! (update requires Lion so if running Snow Leopard do not update)
1) Full Screen Mode using Lion OS native functionality.
2) Kangaroo sound update (I read your reviews:)).
3) Matching Game timer issue fixed.
4) Mac App Store Sandbox Compliant (My app is secure and is not accessing other areas of your computer.
4) Other minor bug fixes and optimizations.
Thank you for all of the great ratings and support.

Excellent for kids - My two year old loves it, however, I would love it more if it had a loop option so it would play like a screen saver. I wish for more improvemnet such as content and menu options for example animal categories, and sound options.

Simple is Good - Finally, something simple my 11 month old can look at without too much complicated interactions. He sits and watches. Who knows what brain cells are developing, but it's never too early to start associating things. His attention is limited though, and by the time we get to the killer whales in the slide show, he jumps off my lap. That donkey sure has a big head!! Nice app.
My 3 year old Granddaughter loves the program. - Downloaded "Let's hear the Animals!" for my 3-year-old Granddaughter last year. I have a 27" iMac and the animal photos in the program are impressive. She now knows all the animal sounds and enjoys playing the matching game. It's one of the best ways of teaching animal names and their related sounds to a young child. I would highly recommend this program to anyone. The program contains a good number of common animals. If I had a recommendation to the developer, it would be to add even more animals to the program. I would certainly be willing to pay for an upgrade if available.
so so - its an ok app. i have a few questions though, why two killerwhales? and the sound, sometimes its so quiet you want to turn up te volume, but if you do its so flippin loud. like the lamb right before the lion for example. and i see the woodpecker picture up there on occation but have never heard it. and maybe some new animals?
