iCLOUD OR LOCAL STORAGE
Choose to save your recordings in a local folder on your Mac or in iCloud Drive for instant access from your other devices.
See everything at a glance including the current input device and a level meter so you can start recording straight away. The Just Press Record icon in the Menu Bar at the top of the screen is ideal for when you need to kick off a recording quickly. We've also added support for the Touch Bar on the new MacBook Pro.
Use your Mac's built-in microphone or an external audio interface or USB microphone. Record in stereo or mono - ideal for voice recordings.
Press and hold the M key during a recording and your microphone will be silenced. As soon as you release the M key your mic will be live again. Perfect for when you need to cough!

Most Helpful Reviews
Exactly what I was looking for. - In all honesty, this should only cost about $1, but it gets the job done. Records quickly in lossless format, saves to a specific folder, can choose whatever input I would like.
Does Not Play It’s Own Recording! - In theory this app seems useful, we all have these ideas, reminders etc. that we like to record. But his app does not even play back it’s own recordings! How absurd is that? I get an error message stating that Just Press Cannot open recordings “Apple MPEG-4 format”. That is the format that this app records in. There are no options to choose any other format. And when I went to their website to get tech support, there is no support page and no way to ask them questions. It does store the recordings on iCloud and you can access them from their iOS app, for which they charge extra. The developer needs to test the apps before putting them up for sale, these guys need to get their act together.
More Reviews for Current Version
Can’t beat the versatility - This has become my go-to voice-memo recorder. The integration between my Apple Watch (which is my primary usage), iPhone, iPad and MacBook is great. My only request would be that an Apple CarPlay version be developed so I could leave myself voice memos while driving without having to look at my watch or phone.
not really useful - It’s fine, but doesn’t do anything the built-in Quicktime Player app doesn’t do. I’m really surprised at the lack of voice transcription for this, seems like basically the ONLY distinguishing feature the iOS app has, so why not put it in the Mac version?
Poor Organization - Lacks the ability to organize, move or rename folder after a recording. To move a recording you need to use a desktop to access the iCloud Folder.
Latest release fixes transcription bugs - The bugs described in the other reviews seem to have been fixed by the latest release. You need to download your MacOS recordings with an iOS device (via iCloud is easiest) and then transcribe it on iOS in order to get the transcription done. @devs: thanks for the update and keep up the good work!
