Instashare - Transfer files and photos the easy way
Developer: Lukas Foldyna
Current Version: 1.4.5
Last Updated: 2 years ago
Download Size: 8.1 MB - Download
Transfer files the easy way, just drag & drop the file and we will handle the rest. Like Apple AirDrop, but works and on all major platforms and computers that don't support AirDrop. Apps are available for iOS, OS X, Windows, and Android.
With millions of downloads in the App Store, thousands of happy users and millions of photo and file transfers, this app is a necessary tool for your iOS device.
SIMPLE FILE SHARING
You don't need to be tech-savvy to share files, photos or videos.
AIRDROP SUPPORT FOR OLDER DEVICES
It adds Airdrop-like transfer capability to older devices without official support for Airdrop, like your older Mac or iOS devices with iOS 6.
SIMPLE TO USE
No need to pair devices or set up a transfer to send files or photos. Designed for quick and easy sharing of files, photos, and videos from your PC or Mac to your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or even from an Android device, photos and videos are automatically saved to the 'Camera roll' album.
Just open the app and start sharing files, holiday photos, or family videos – no need to enter emails or passwords.
NO FILE TYPE LIMITS
You can transfer any file type, no restrictions. MP3s, images, PDFs, presentations, and way more.
PHOTOS AND VIDEOS
Instashare preserves photo metadata in all transfer directions (EXIF information, location, etc). Transfer in full resolution.
WORKS WITHOUT INTERNET
You don't need to be connected to the internet, just use a local wi-fi or Bluetooth (iOS and OS X only) to transfer files.
You can use Instashare with various apps thanks to the system built-in extension – share pictures from Photo library, links from Safari, and other files straight from 3rd party apps.
Stop retyping long URLs and so on. Just copy and transfer it in a few seconds.
Drag a clipboard item & drop it on the device – it will be automatically copied to clipboard on the device.
Files and photos are sent only between your devices, without making a copy somewhere in the Cloud. They never leave your local wi-fi network, keeping your files and photos safe.
IOS DEVICE WAKEUP
No need to manually open the mobile app to transfer a file or clipboard to device – just wait a few seconds for the device to appear.

Versions for other platforms available at instashareapp.com
To transfer files and photos between two devices, both of them need to have this app installed. Mobile apps are free, desktop apps are paid.
Access to a properly configured wi-fi network (or bluetooth between iOS and OS X) is required for this app to work. Some public or private wi-fi networks may be configured to block communication between devices, preventing the transfer connection to be established.
You don't need to use the latest device or OS available, works with older systems as well, from iOS 6, iPad 2 or iPhone 4.

Works great for me! - I had a 65mb pdf that I needed to transfer from my OS X Mac Book Air to my 2 iPads (one mini, one regular) couldn’t do it via email because it was too big. (Although I could have messed around with Google large file transfer which is awkward) I Googled “How to transfer files from OS X to iPad” and came up with this app…..I installed it on the Air Book and the iPads and it WORKS PERFECTLY! Thanks you for a great app!
RIPOFF - Bought Mac and iPad versions…need a way to share .aif files…the wireless sync with iTunes is worthless… I am watching the .aif file getting transferred now for over an hour. Seriously? Did the developers even test this app? I want my money back. Moon Dog

Scammed again! - I saw all the bad reviews about Instashare not working properly or not working at all, but decided to take a chance. My iPad (new), iMac (2011), and MBPro (2011) were not new, an alternative to Airdrop was needed. Instashare promised to be that alternative, however, it worked only twice out of dozens of attempts to share documents once I had installed the software and extensions on all machines. It almost never recognizes the other devices (except on the iPad) and the shared clipboard function doesn’t work at all. The OSs on all my machines are up to date, so there’s no excuse for this. As always, I’m angry again that the App Store doesn’t have a refund mechanism or a way to try before you buy. The developer’s site has a link to a support page, but the link goes nowhere. No developer support. I’m sure the developer got sick of getting angry buyers’ requests for a refunds and updates to make this junk work and ended up nixing the support page. Why does Apple let very poorly rated software exist in its store from devlopers who don’t offer support or fix their flawed software? Why was I so stupid to think it might work for me? SCAM! To summarize, you might get 5% functionality from this useless software or none at all.
Instashare - For the most part, Instashare works as described with some caveats. for starters, there is no opt-out for sending analytics to crashlytics and developer’s website (as such, i block all outgoing connections for this application with Little Snitch). please offer opt-out (for Instashare across all platforms). next, pairing isn’t instant nor automatic as each device added must approve pairing before any transfers take place (a good thing but not obvious to user). next, there is no obvious way to accept incoming connections on iOS without the app being open despite option suggesting this is possible. all in all, since i have a MBP 2011 model, i don’t have Airdrop. Instashare adds this functionality.
Works amazing. Much better than air drop - I’m wondering why the reviews are so bad because this seems to work great on all my computers. Maybe they’ve patched a lot of bugs, im not sure. Super responsive unlike air drop that seems to take a while and transfers slowly.
not work!!!!? - is not work app !!!!? very uncomfortable ! i want my money back
not compatible with 10.7 - This is NOT compatible with 10.7 because Apple is a piece of crap and now bluetooth on 10.7 is not compatible with any updated iphones’ bluetooth. Brilliant, right? Not. Should have suspected a catch.
