Great for people coming over from Windows - Are you a current or former Windows user looking for something similar to Windows Image Viewer? You found it! Once the app is set up you can simply click a photo file and have it pop up in Image Viewer and use the arrow keys to move to the next photo in the directory! This is what Apple Preview should have been.
No RAW image viewing? - I thought I’d found the best image viewer after seeing the positive ratings. So, I went ahead and bought this. I was so disappointed to find out that my RAW images (.CR2) could not be read. How is it possible that a viewer has these restrictions?!?!?! So, it’s not for the professional photographer?

Great app, especially if you like the way photos are viewed on Windows - Update: I had updated the below review with an issue since the release of High Sierra, but they have fixed it, and I am putting back my five star review. This is once again an absolutely incredible program that is worth every penny, and I use it daily. If you wish to view photos on a Mac and wish to use something besides the built-in Photos app, this is for you. My original review follows, and I truly cannot recommend this enough. OUTSTANDING. I have wanted a Mac for quite some time now, but I have always had a PC since around 1988 and onward. I finally made the jump and got a Macbook Air which I love and, to me, is nearly ‘perfect’ One thing that I could not get used to even after weeks of using it, or at least I could not figure it out, was how to view photos when I put them on my external hard drive. That is not to say I could not view them - that is as easy as double clicking. However, even after research, it seemed that if you are not using the actual drive on the Mac itself, you cannot simply swipe left or right through photos like you can with the built in photo app with Mac OS. Once I moved everything to the external drive, it would allow me to view them in a preview app, but I could not arrow or swipe through them all in a simple fashion. Seemed, too, that many had this issue. After some looking around, I decided to try this Image Viewer app, and it works incredibly well It did take a bit for me to learn that I had to view a file’s info and then ensure I told it to always use this program, etc., but once I was done with that, things are exactly as they should be I can click on a photo in a directory, make it full screen, and easily swipe or arrow to the next one. I admit, I wish by moving photos to an external drive that the built in app still worked, but I could not for the life of me get it to do so. For a few dollars, this one did that perfeclty, and I cannot recommend it enough.
Great Image Viewing App! - This is the best Image Viewer that I have used. Easy to use and preferences make it easy to customize to my needs. Love that you can work on two monitors now. Animated GIF support makes it even better! Thank you for adding raw file support and thumb nail sizes! Easy to use and does everything I need!
This is my must have app! - I have tried many image or photo viewing programs in the past and was very happy to find this app. It can load thousands of photos in just a few seconds. It supports the RAW files from my DSLR camera and shows the EXIF information. I really like the layout, keyboard commands, mouse scroll wheel support, and user preferences. The interface is simple and works great! Update: Really like the changes to the app and backing up during a random slideshow is great!!!
Only does slideshow in full screen. - Works ok but, I want the option to do a windowed slide show rather than just full screen.
Great app - This Image Viewer does everything I need. It is super easy to use and I love that you can set the thumbnail size for both full screen and “windowed” screen. Thank you for adding RAW file support and animated GIF support. This is a great app for viewing pictures.
