Great, easy-to-use - A very nice and easy-to-use application, works exactly as advertized. I like to keep my library neat, and with this app rating songs is easier than with iTunes
Impossibly annoying sound on by default - I really liked I Love Stars when it was a free app, so much so that when it showed up in the app store I bought it just to support it. Then I started noticing this really annoying bell sound occasionally while listening to iTunes. I had no idea what app was causing it ... Was it iTunes itself? Was it LastFM, which runs alongside iTunes? Was it Firefox, which I leave running all the time? Was it some other application that happened to be running at the same time? No. It was I Love Stars, playing a "helpful" chime every time an unrated song started playing in iTunes, a new feature that was apparently added to the application and turned on by default for some unfathomable reason. Because I Love Stars runs in the menu bar, and left clicking on it sets star ratings rather than opening up a drop-down menu, it took me a few days before I thought to try right clicking on it, which revealed the Preferences option and the ultimate culprit. Why on EARTH would you make an application designed to complement a music player play a sound BY DEFAULT? I don't want other sounds constantly playing over my media player. I want music playing over my media player. I used to really like this program, but this one horrible design choice was so egregious and infuriating that I feel compelled to give this version 1 star.

Current version still has iTunes-reboot bug - The current version was supposed to fix the bug where quitting itunes automatically relaunched it, but unfortunately the problem still persists. (Using latest version of ML on a 16GB RAM Mac mini.) The only way I can get iTunes to quit and stay quit is by first quitting I Love Stars. Please fix this!
Slowly failing under Mavericks! - Hasn’t been updated in over a year… starting to lose compatibility with Mavericks. After you restart your Mavericks computer, this app leaves a big white empty space on your menubar. Before Mavericks came out, this app would hide that white empty space. Slowly failing! Developer not updating anymore??
Great, but slowly bloating - I love this app, but with every version it’s getting features that are completely pointless to its actual value (which is to easily rate songs). But worst of all, as noted by Vengeur as well, the default Bells sound that plays to remind you to rate a song is horrible! Not only is it distracting, it took me a whole day to figure out what was causing it. I hate it so much it caused me to come here to write this review. Not because you shouldn’t buy this app, but because when you do (and you should), you should know that you can turn it off. It would be a 5, were it not for that and the feature-creep which is only devaluing the core of the app.
Slowly failing under Mavericks! - We do not recommend this app. Development seems to have stopped on this app. Hasn’t been updated in over a year… starting to lose compatibility with Mavericks. After you restart your Mavericks computer, this app leaves a big white empty space on your menubar. Before Mavericks came out, this app would hide that white empty space. Also, this app no longer has full compatbility with the latest version of iTunes. This app is slowly failing.
