Stacked... - This game might be ok if it wern't for the fact that it's way too stacked in favor of the computer. I understand the need for a challenge, but there's no reason why 9 shots against 55 should result in a 7-2 score. It's not fun if you take anything remotely realistic... dissapointed I wasted $5 on this.

Great Value - Yeah, so every single goal scored goes in through the goalie's legs, and it's pretty much impossible to not win the faceoffs, but the gameplay is at least as realistic as the other major hockey games on the market. Pucks go off the post, the goalie is mildly realistic and not a cardboard cutout that slides across the crease. I consider myself to have average to above average hockey game skills, and unlike some other posters I don't think the game is easy on the hard setting.

Solid Hockey Game - This is a solid game that plays similar to the NHLPA 94-96 era games on the 16 bit systems, with upgraded graphics. I found trying to control the players using the keyboard to be very difficult, the mouse is usable once you get used to it. I will forewarn you that if you play hockey games on one of today's more advanced systems, this game may become too easy for you very quickly. Even on the most difficult setting, one timers near the net almost always go in. While you can aim your shots, there is almost no point because the best way to score is to fire straight at the goalie- the computer controlled goalie lets almost everything in through the five hole. The only time this seems to change is when you are playing away games- this game gives a huge advantage to the home team. If you play a playoff series, switching from being the home to the away team you will immediately notice your players become slower and the CPU oppenent will score on around 25% of their shots. The game has a suprising amount of depth in terms of strategy, you can change your offensive and defensive strategies on the fly in game. You can also pick a fight whenever you want to, which I thought was a nice touch. The acheivements give some incentive to try all of the different game modes. Overall, considering the cost, this is a good, solid hockey game.

Decent bargain game - Like almost every other game here, it has N64 like graphics, but the gameplay is pretty good, gamepad would be nice, worth the 5 bucks

great game...but - This is really a fun hockey game to play and it's good if you need something to do. My biggest complaint in the game play is the controls. They're really easy to learn, but it seems like they don't always do what you want. For example, i could be trying to go up, but my player will just stay in the same spot. There are also a lot of times when my player will pass or shoot the puck without me pushing anything. Also, maybe it's just me, but you can't take a slap shot on the game. The instructions say to hold the shoot button, but that just takes a snap shot. If these things were fixed, it would be much better.
