The best just keeps getting better - Skunk Studios set the standard for computer bowling games with Gutterball 3D, then upped the ante with Gutterball 2. Now they've outdone themselves and everyone else with Gutterball - Golden Pin Bowling. The ball and pin physics are so realistic and the rendering of the lanes and environments is so perfect, you sometimes feel you're watching HD video of real bowling pins. To make the game boredom-proof and deliver more bang for the buck, there are 7 lanes for the player to unlock and bowling balls to buy by earning golden pin points. Along the way, the player is egged on by different off-camera comentators. In this updated version all 7 lanes have been tweaked and polished even more, and you can now steer the ball after the throw. You can also switch to a static view at the foul line instead of flying down the lane behind the ball. It's a something-for-everyone package. If all you want is the best bowling simulation for the Mac, you'll be happy with the default Retro lane, and if the Valley Girl commentator gets on your nerves, you can silence her, as well as Ronkat Spearman's background music (though it's so well composed it never gets boring). With the latest update, the eye candy from the iOS version is even sweeter on the bigger Mac screen. Skunk Studios has even taken the advice of avid bowlers and corrected the pin numbering (2, 4 and 7 pins on the left; 3, 6 and 10 on the right) As to gameplay, invest in a good mouse or trackball. You'll master the aim-throw-spin gestures more quickly and with more precision than with a trackpad. As in real bowling, even after you've found your strike ball, there's enough of an element of chance to make a perfect game less than a sure thing. Best of all: you don't have to bowl in someone else's shoes.

Bugs in the software that were reported but no response - There are bugs in the software. I have reported the issues with no response. About every five or so games when I roll a strike the ball comes back I am forced to roll when there are no pins to knock down. The strike is then recorded as a 9 and a miss. Do not understand why Apply allows a defective product to be sold in the App store. Three time I was hiting a 300 when the empty pins showed up and requried me to bowl in order to contine the game. No happy at all and would not recommend until they fix the bugs. If it wasn’t for this problem I would otherwise love this game.

Awesome bowling game! - I remember playing the original version online. This game is just as good as the original if not better. Coming from a league bowler of twelve years the pin action is very realistic which is a must in any bowling game. The different alleys and bowling balls also give the game some nice variety. There's a lot to unlock which gives you a reason to keep playing. The graphics look gorgeous on my 13 inch MacBook Pro. Well worth the few bucks spent. If you're a bowling fan you should def buy this game. It's a lot of fun. Thank you Apple and Skunk Studios!

Only works on mobile devices not computers - The game doesn’t let you use the touchpad on laptops for anything except for clicking on powerups. Game needs to be fixed so that you can use any mouse or the keyboard to play on computers!
