Description:

GradeA is only available for purchase through the Mac App Store, but there is a limited trial version available on my website http://www.dave256apps.com.

GradeA is an application for storing and computing grades and attendance records. Add custom categories (i.e., Homework, Quizzes, Exams, Labs) and add assessments for each category. Optionally drop a specified number of lowest scores from each category. Three different grading calculation methods: weighted average of categories, total points, and total points per category with weighted average of categories. Email reports to students (or parents for K-12) using Mail.app. Print individual reports to hand out to students. View/Edit grades by student or by assessment. Import names from a properly formatted CSV file. Export a CSV file with data. Undo support. User manual in the help menu. See http://www.dave256apps.com for more information.

Just what you expect - and it beats Blackboard! - An easy-to-use gradebook application. Comes with the ability to maintain grades by total points or by weighted average. Intuitive interface and comes with the ability to email student grades. Although it doesn't interface directly with Blackboard, it's easy to use GradeA's export feature to put grades on Bb. (export your Bb roster from Bb to a CSV file, export the grades from GradeA to a CSV file and copy from the GradeA export to the Bb one, then upload - just took me a couple of minutes). With the many versions of Blackboard being used, it would be difficult as a developer to make sure it works with all of them, so the CSV option does the trick. Comes with many ways to view the grades. I've maintained grades using Excel and Blackboard and this beats both.

difficult program - Can't figure out how to add scores to categories. Videos don't help. Added students and now I'm stuck. No one to ask. Feel like I wasted my money

Not at all Intuitive - Wish I had not spent the money! There does not appear to be a way to enter separate assignments. This actually looks like a program for taking attendence, everything is about taking attendance and not for keeping track of grades for each student. I spent over $14 for nothing!! Very dissatisfied.
