Excellent piece of finding multiple duplicates fast - I have used duplicate finder for a few years and trust its findings. It has not deleted anything which affected my current profile settings, and definitely speeds us your large file transfers 2GB more easily. I notice it gets stuck when it finds 50GB or more; it could be my 16GB is inadequate for the task. I would also recommend using their other piece of software I use confidently, Clean my Drive; I have found a trick I would like to share 1. use duplicate finder first, then boot up clean my drive, and use the clean the trash button to empty the apple trash can much quicker; however, if you use this process, you can not go back to any more operations on duplicate finder, but the only option left is newest file and that usually is less than 3-5% of the duplicate population. Use these software products together for a much more powerful and quicker maintenance of duplicate and system junk. John Berger and I have no paid or unpaid dealings with this company. I have searched and tried many software utilities and these two are stables of my toolbox.

Found Nothing Where There Was Plenty - I had no luck with an earlier version, which found no duplicates at all in each folder; folders I knew had several. So I dumped it. Recently, while running Clean My Mac II, Gemini was offered as part of that, so I tried it again. Just like the last time, it appeared to scan the chosen files all too quickly, and found no duplicates at all. One folder even vanished when I dragged it into the center. In iTunes it presented me with two possible duplicates, but they were not the same at all. They shared general names found in many classical pieces, but the lengths of the songs were different, as were all of the other details. Meanwhile, I knew I had at least three versions of several songs in my library that I had downloaded from different sources, but Gemini identified none of them. Again, I dumped it. I have no idea how all these other people are having such good results! It seems to be idiot-proof, so I don’t know how I could be screwing it up. Anyone?

Useless - Paid $10 and the app didn’t find a single duplicate. I’ve had my iMAC since 2012 and use it regularly. I know I have duplicates.

Requires finesse, diligence and careful attention - I ran this software 5x and still have duplicates (and triplicates and beyond) on my drive that it is not finding, that I am finding manually. Finally, I did some checking on the folders and allowed it to carry those out after testing. Apparently it can only find so many independent files at any time. Even after I allowed it to delete folders, it still found individual file duplicates. Eventually it got all of my files. Also, beware when downloading and running the trial version. I did a first pass with the trial, then got to the remove portion, and was prompted to purchase, which I did via the Mac App store, which then downloaded a completely separate program. I contacted support, and after explaining the issue several times, they helped me to not lose my efforts up to that point.

Worth the money - The user interface is intuitive and over all prettty nice. In my expereince the solution works well. I paid $10. It identified the duplicates. I was able to review all duplicate files and decide which copy I wished to destroy. I freed up 30 GB of storage and I am comfortable no valuable files were elinimated unknowingly. I use it every few days now.

I love this - I love this software. MacPaw has some beautifully designed apps, and Gemini is no exception. I got 10gb from my 500gb mac that I had no idea I had on there. It’s really saved me because I’m struggling to find more space right now. Love it and I’m so glad I got it. 5 stars!!!
