Most Helpful Reviews
Good, but needs to be better - I love the etymological references and usages. I agree the interface is rather difficult and needs improvement, For instance, there is no settings or "about" information. The content is great, however, and you can't get it anywhere else.

Mediocre at best - As a student learning the language, I really wanted a good desktop dictionary app for the mac. Since this is the only French Dictionary on the App Store, I figured I'd give it a try. I think that the content is good, but the interface really needs to be modified. I find it confusing to have two windows open just to look up a word, and I'm just not a fan of the clipboard look. I would prefer if this had two columns, one with a word and the other with a definition (but all in one window). I will continue to use this app because it gets the job done, but I hope that the interface is modified in an update.
Please make these changes - When you switch to the application by clicking on it, tabbing to it, swiping to it: automatically have a cursor ready to go in the search box. When the list of options appear below the search box, allow us to use the up/down arrow to select, (we don't need every conjugation of a verb). Please get rid of the pop up windows. they clutter the space. ONE WINDOW for everything - like the Dictionary app that comes with the Mac. And most importantly: add a 'save this word"/bookmark option. ANYONE who consults a dictionary will do so to confirm knowledge of a word (so it's not necessary to save it), or to learn a new word. I will admit that I don't always retain every word I look up. A bookmark option lets you review words you've looked up. If you were able to pipe these words over to a kind of flashcard program, all the better. The above changes are incredibly easy to implement. It would take one day for an experienced programmer to tackle.
Berwick French Dictionary - I just purchased this and am getting used to it. But be apprised that this dictionary does not provide a conjugation table for verbs. The description at the top of the page says that the dictionary contains "toutes les conjugaisons". This appears to mean that every conjugated form of the verb is included as a word in the dictionary. Apparently it does NOT mean the inclusion of a conjugation table so that you can quickly review how a given verb is conjugated into its various forms and tenses. This is disappointing to me, as I purchased this product specifically to obtain the implied conjugation table of verbs in addition to the dictionary function. (Dictionary function that is available for free in products such as Littré and Dictionnaire de l'Académie Français, both of which will install right into the OSX Dictionary application.) Live and learn. Perhaps the other functionalities will make this App worth the $8.99. I'll have to play around with it a while to see.
Crashes constantly - I never posts reviews but this POS app crashes about every 3-4 searches…they need to fix it.
