Want to focus better on what you're doing? Focus Time is a beautifully designed timer for people who want to avoid distractions and get more done.

LifeHacker: "Keeps You On-Task and Productive"

Want to eliminate the anxiety of time and enhance your focus and concentration?

The key is to apply yourself to tasks by working in units of 25 minutes, separated by short breaks of 5 minutes.

The steps are:

1. Choose a task to accomplish
2. Start timer
3. Work until timer rings
4. Take a short break
5. Every 4 session, take a longer break

Focus Time will automatically switch between the work timer and the long/short break timers, as well as counting the number of sessions you've completed. You can select an activity and see a graph of how you're spending your time.

Focus Time is also available on iPhone and iPad. It supports synchronization using either Dropbox or iCloud so you can see your achievements on all your devices!

If you'd prefer a screen clear of clutter, you can close the Focus Time window and use the menu bar timer instead to start/stop your timer or switch activities.

Release Notes:

Fix issue where long break occurs during the third (instead of the fourth) cycle.

Great productivity apps for both OS and iOS. Pomodoro Technique - Recently I began using this app and the companion iOS apps. I have found them to be both easy to use and helpful in my process of implementing the Pomodoro System in my life. In addition, I e-mailed the developer a question before purchase and he responded almost immediately with an answer. Great app, great service! Also, in my experience, the OS app and the iOS app sync nicely - contrary to what some have written in reviews posted here.

Sync does not work between OSX and ios. No support. - Although this is a great app on ios8 and the recent upgrade made the syncing between ios versions wonderful, the sync between the Mac and ios versions does not work. In addition, when you click on the “Focus Time Support” link it takes you to a webpage that does not provide for any means to obtain support. If they fix the sync it would be great. As it stands, don’t waste your money on the Mac version.

Sync does not work on MacOs Sierra - I’m struggling with the sync feature for syncing with ipad and iPhone. This app used to work on earlier MacOS versions but now it’s useless for syncing. Since it has been almost a year since an update, has the developer abandoned the application?

Still un-useable - Freezes and rings incessantly - The app is completely broken for me. Happened with earlier versions too. Totally unusable. Every time I open it, it alerts me to an ever-incrasing number of notifications, rings incesstantly, freezes. I have to force-quit the app. For example, it will start with a banner saying I have 10 notifications, then the number will quickly go up to, say, 32 notifications, then 59, then 80, then 124, then 156, then 216, etc, etc. As the nonstop notifiactions come in, the app rings and rings. And it’s impossible to use while this is happening, obviously. Eventually I force quit and give up.
