Fluctus Free is the Audio File Editor for the most basic Audio Editing needs. It allows fast and simple audio editing and conversion with professional quality.

With Fluctus you can edit your audio file with standard operations like: Delete, Erase, Trim, Cut, Copy, Paste, Reverse and more. Or edit your waveform, sample by sample, with the Pencil tool.

You can also use our non-destructive Amplitude edit system and leave the waveform untouched. This is done in a secondary “Layer”, that allows you to edit the file amplitude (with sample precision) without interfering with your original Audio File “Layer”.

The secondary or Amplitude “Layer” can be edited by applying functions (like fade-ins and -outs, audio mute or audio pass), or you can use the Pencil tool and shape it freely.

You can run a “Peak Analysis” on your files for dBFS and dB True-Peak (also known as inter-sample peaks), and normalize the file accordingly. The Spectrograph and Amplitude Distribution Analysis complete the list of Tools, that help you make informed editing decisions.

Fluctus Free is a 64-bit capable application. Intermediate audio is saved in 32-bit floating point files and all internal processing is done in 64-bit floating point precision.

Unlimited Undo and Redo history, and a “Clean History” option to free disk space when needed.

Fluctus can import AIFF, WAVE, FLAC, CAF, SoundDesigner II, NeXT/Sun, MPEG-4, Apple Lossless, AAC and MP3 files of any sample rate.

Exports AIFF, WAVE, CAF, SoundDesigner II, NeXT/Sun, MPEG-4, Apple Lossless and AAC files.

LoudLAB 3 and Fluctus work great together, since they open each other files. Fluctus is a completely free application, and that means anyone can open LoudLAB 3 projects making collaborative work easier.

Version 1.0

Works ok, but buggy. - The interface is wrought with bugs that prevent the UI from updating properly, and the app locked up more than once. There is an undo command, but using it doesn’t seem to work. I had to reload the file and redo my select/trim operation until I got what I wanted. I just needed to take a few short clips out of longer audio files. I think if the interface worked as intended this would have been a snap. Without the bugs, this would have been 4-5 stars.
