First Words helps toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners build their vocabulary.

The intuitive controls and dynamic activities will keep children entertained while they learn. The multiple activities use sound effects and animation to keep children returning to the game to learn more.

By simply clicking on images on the screen, children can expand their language skills with eight educational activities:
- ABCs
- Animals
- Beach
- Numbers
- Sports
- Fruit
- Colors
- Shapes

When your child clicks on a picture, the animated screen will zoom in on the selected item and reveal the word. Your child will then hear the word spoken.

Not worth the cost.... - It's a cute little app, and while I wouldn't go as far as to call it useless, it certainly isn't any better than many other apps that are less expensive. If you're looking for something that builds basic and extremely limited recognition skills for a high price, then this app is for you!!! Otherwise, find a better and more interactive app for less than half of the price. There are several out there.

too expensive for the content - I think this app is too expensive because the content are not complete, it is too simple there are better apps for less that a child can really interact with. this one is just repeating words with no interaction. I wasted my money!

Basic. but - I have a big 15 mo baby girl. Sure this app isn't like learning central or anything. But for 2 dollars ad/mal ware free and gives us some much appreciated daddy time in my office. Worth it. The farm animals are best, as they make the animal sounds. The other items..ehh..not so much! Could be improved if the other items like colors and numbers has "like" examples " the ocean" "5 ducks!" etc.

Worth .99 not 1.99 - This app is OK all around. My 15 month old enjoyed it for a few moments but was quickly bored. Like other reviewers have said it doesn't have much in the way of content. Colors could have some examples, there could be somemore animals, and letters could hae some more examples. This app is worth .99 but not 1.99.
