My new "Spotlight" replacement - I am very happy to have stubbled upon this gem of a file search engine. The interface is simple and easy to use. It will not only search your Home direcories, but by click the "Path" button, you can even search the hard drive's root directories such as Library or System. If the checkbox marked "Hidden" is checked and you're "Path" is set to the root (/), Findy will even search the hidden "private" folder structure. 4 out of 5 stars To gain the fifth star, I'd like to see two additions to the application. First, some sort of "Exclude" list. There are certain directories I may not want to include in my search. Being able to freely add and remove directories from an Exclusion List would return the results I really want to see. Second, add the ability to copy and delete the files listed in the search results. As it is, I have to keep Findy open in one window and open Finder. Using the path data from Findy, I have to navigate to the appropriate folder using Finder in order to find the file and copy or delete it. In it's current form, the list of files Findy shows me are right there - I should be able to perform copy/delete actions on not only one file, but perhaps even a group of files. Take care of these two items and I'll definitely update my review with a 5th star and an amended review.
