EchoJack is an audio utility that lets you play through audio from any input device to any output device. EchoJack can be used to do the following:
1. Monitor the audio recording using headphones.
2. Create a makeshift Public Announcement (PA) system. Simply hook up your mac’s line-out to an amplifier, turn on EchoJack, and speak into your mac’s microphone. Your sound will play through to the amplifier.
3. Add voice comment during media playback. Simply turn on EchoJack when playing audio/video media, and speak into your mac’s microphone. Your voice will be mixed into the media output sound.

What a waste of $4.99--terrible latency - I was excited to see this utility listed in the Music category. For a long time I have been very frustrated with GarageBand's latency with my audio input--just a few ms but noticeable. I figure a dedicated input has to have done a better job with this. NOPE! The latency is 5-10x worse than GarageBand. Don't even bother.

Huge Delay - I downloaded this to use as a PA for my speaker. The delay was so bad It’s unusable...
Just what I needed. - All I wanted to do is plug the audio from my 7” desk tv to play through my mac mini sound system with an easy way to turn it off and on. Works great for this.
