Does exactly what I wanted - All I wanted was an app that would look at a folder and replace selected text with other selected text. For work I have to download around 100 photos from client's sites and upload them to my own site with a different name. This did the job and was free. Definitely a time saver, thanks!

Doesn't work - I downloaded it to rename files in recurring folders. The app didn't work, it didn't rename any of the files. I had to download a competing app.

There were problems that required Disc Utility - I had a huge renaming task to do—hundreds of files. But, after using it so intensely, my finder developed some problems (like you’d open a folder and it would look empty even though there were files in it). So I booted with the Apple install disc and used Disc Utility and it fixed it up 100%. I still use this app but would caution the “faint of heart” to be wary if you have a huge renaming job like I did. Be prepared to run the utility to repair any dangling bits.

works. easy - Nice - just renamed about 30,000 files with less effort than remembering how to write a script to do it. Would be nice to have a 'preview result' but whatever - it's free!

simple - there is the simple renamer in finder, (OSX Yosemite) you right click and select "rename __ files" This app pretty much does the same, but this app has more limitations. However in finder you have the option to do sequential numbers, you can append numbers for your sequence, and change the order of where certain text are placed. The app doesnt let you do it. you can only find a “text” and replace said “text” with what you choose. I limit my review based on that. Keep coding. Im sure with time the app can include other features. Great job for a free app, thats for sure. :)
