FROM THE TUAW TECH BLOG DAILY MAC APP REVIEW:

“Drive Mounter makes it easy by doing all the hard work for you. It remembers which drives should be mounted on which networks and mounts them accordingly when you boot or resume you Mac.”

Extremely buggy and no longer supported by the developer. - This applciation sounds great in thoery for those of us who have networked drives at home, and want to connect to them automatically when they come home with their laptop. But the program almost never works. I always have to do it manually because of bugs in the program. The developer hasn’t updated the application in years. I think Apple should pull it.

Great when it works, not so great when it doesn't - When I first installed this application I had no trouble getting it working and it worked marvelously. But then I had to replace the hard drive I was using with my Airport Extreme and now I can't get it to work any more. All it does is keep popping up a dialog asking for the password for the server. I have to type fast because the dialog disappears after only a few seconds. When I manage to enter the password it doesn't recognize it. There does not appear to be any support or any way to contact the developer. There is a much easier solution to this anyway. Alll you have to do is mount the server manually and then drag the icon into your Login Items. Then it will always mount automatically whenever you log in.

Works well in simple setups, no VPN support however - This app well under simple network setups it will mount drives and keep them mounted when you move between networks. It does however seem to lack the ability to notice when you connect to a VPN and map drives over a VPN connection. I also could not get it to re-map the drives using the "Connect drives on list" option after a VPN connection is established so its not that great for VPN situations, hopefully this will improve in future realeases.

Its great but not consistent on connecting the drives automatically - Its great but not consistent on connecting the drives automatically. After setting the preference list of drives to connect at start up, it does not connect consistently at start up. The network drives are the ones that are most often needing a push. Once the first network drive connects, the rest follows. Most often I get to find out that the drives are connected is when I try to retrieve or save. Then I go to the Connect drives on list, then Finder to verify the first drive is connected, and wait a few seconds for the rest of the drives to connect.

Total Piece of Junk - This app does not mount smb:// drives via IP address. I’ve been able to get it to work (FINALLY) when using the server name for my NAS. Connecting via IP address, and mounting drives for Drive Mounter to use will result in nothing happening. No feedback, no errors and no drives mounted. If I had to do it again, I’d not have purchased this and just used apple script.

Stupid popup asking for rating - The app works great, but rated one star because of the obnoxious popup asking for an app store rating. DON’T DO IT.
