Description:

Instead of being a source of constant distraction, your computer should help you accomplish what's most important to you every day.

It's easy to spend hours sitting in front of a computer immersed in doing little things, while avoiding the most important one.

DoOneThing won't nag you, or beep at you, or harass you.

Its presence at the top of your screen in a place of primacy, near the time, is intended to bring your focus back to what is most important for the day, to make your primary goal present in your computer screen and life.

Priority means first - There is no list. There is one thing. The one thing you have to do. This application will leave that one thing in your task bar until you say it is done. And it won't put something ELSE for you to do when you finished. Do your one thing. When you are done, it's gone.

Perfect for MITs - I use Todoist for typical task management, but this is perfect for setting my daily Most Important Task and keeping it visible across applications.

escaping computer hypnosis - Thank you for this app. I appreciate being reminded that my time is valuable and not to spend it mindlessly lost wandering the internet. I love the internet, but I do not want to live there.
