Description:

Are you suffering from eye strains for staring at the screen for a long time?

Dimmer than Dim helps you to reduce eye strains and radiation by breaking the brightness limit of your screen settings.

More often than not, you'll find that even using the minimum brightness level is still dazzling. With Dimmer than Dim, you can now continuously adjust the brightness of the screen, and even break the minimum level.

Dimmer than dim - Yeah, now I could adjust my brightness to the level below critical point. Easy and fun to use

Makes it darker, but is essentially useless. - It does make it darker but all it does give a grey tint over everything making the clarity of your screen terrible. And considering it just puts a tint on your screen and cannot change the factory minimum brightness on your computer it doenst give you more battery life time either....its quite usless. You can see this by putting your actuall screen on low and then out your screen in negative (control+alt+cmd+8) and then turn dimmer than dim on and off. You will see what i mean.

Could be 5 stars - I like the app, and it works fine ... only wish I didn't have to reset my preferred level every time the computer restarts. If fixed, I would give this 5 stars.

Good for v1 - I've been using Shades, which hasn't been updated for a long time. I discovered Dimmer than Dim and decided to give it a try. Although DtD is an app that executes much faster than Shades, it isn't as complete. I hope the author adds the same features (keyboard shortcuts, % indicator, choice of menu icons) to convince me to finally switch.

Functionality is there, just missing one (nitpicky) thing - This application does everything that it promises to do, and it's simple UI is great. My ONLY qualm with this application is that it still shows up on the dock when running. Because of the fact that it's a great for simply running in the background, I would prefer if it was JUST in the status bar, or with a preference setting checkbox that would show/hide it on the dock when running. But, as I state in the title, this is a completely nitpicky thing on my part. Would still recommend this to others, but I do hope that the developer sees this response and takes the idea into account. Thank you for the great app!
