Depths of Peril is a single player action RPG (role-playing game) with strong strategy elements. You play as a faction leader protecting the barbarian city, Jorvik, by destroying threatening monsters and completing quests. At the same time, you compete with rival factions to see who will rule the city. Barbarians choose their leaders by fighting to the death!
As a faction leader, you must deal with rival factions through diplomacy, trade, and in time, war. Between battles and raids against other barbarian factions, you build the most powerful faction possible, to withstand your enemies. Building the power of a faction involves exploring a fantasy world, slaying dangerous monsters, solving quests for the city, avoiding deadly traps, and plundering loot to share within your faction.
But in this world, actions actually have consequences, so take care. Annoying the powerful and aggressive Legion of Fear faction will cause them to declare war and destroy you. Ignored Orc uprisings in the Black Forest will cause even more trouble. Protect ally covenants that are being raided, because friends are hard to come by.

A refreshing take on a Diablo-style Action RPG - If you love Diablo you should give this game a go. The world is a lot more alive than in your standard Diablo-clone, as you have a number of NPC rivals (you choose how many) competing for control of the city, and out in the field battling the same monsters you are. You recruit a team of people to support you in battle (like mercs) and guard your home base. If you happen to fail, no matter, you can carry over the same character to a fresh start with a new set of rivals and circumstances. With so many options to alter difficulty, choices of how to align with the factions in town, who to take with you, and what class and skills to take, you are sure to be in for a lot of gameplay. The company who makes this has also released a really good sequel with even more chaotic world events and online play. This game is apparently still being actively supported too. Depths of Peril is a couple years old, but you can see on their website that the company is still updating it to this day. You'll most likely get hooked to this game if you give it a few hours and you like the genre.

My favorite genre of games - I love these types of games. I first got in to kivi, when I bought my first mac back in 2008. I have others, but kivi keeps me coming back. I had a crazy thought, if they were to pipe kivi, to the playstation 3, or vita. I would play no other game. I am highly addicted to this game. Skyrim is another, and second best to kivi. Cheers.
