If you are looking for a personal finance app that is convenient, easy to use and at the same time has enough features, then Debit & Credit is the right app for you.

• All accounts in one app
Keeping financial records was always a bit of a hassle. But now you can actually enjoy it. See all your accounts in one place and manage your everyday finances.

• Super fast
Creating a new transaction now takes a matter of seconds. The app was designed with simplicity and convenience in mind. It will never require you to make dozens of unnecessary steps to accomplish simple tasks.

• Companion iOS & Apple Watch app
Debit & Credit has its own app for iPhone and iPad, which you can use to add transactions on the go. It is super convenient and keeps data in sync via iCloud.

• Importing data
We know how important it is to be able to import transactions from your financial institutions. That's why we support CSV, QIF, QMTF, OFX and QFX files. And you can also choose which particular transactions to import from a file, something that not all financial apps know how to do.

• Budgets & Scheduled Transactions
Do you want to budget expenses on a particular category? No problems. Do you plan to make a transaction in the future and want to be reminded about it? Consider it done.

• Reports
We believe in clean, crisp reports that are easy to read and understand. See where and what do you spend your money on. Other types of reports are available too.

• Bank reconciliation mode
Sometimes we all need extra help to keep our accounts in shape. You can easily reconcile your accounts with bank statements in the app to eliminate any disparities.

• Powerful features
Split categories, pending transactions, transaction export, file attachments (with sync), transaction tags, printing reports and saving them as PDF files - all those and many other features are at your disposal when you need them.

• iCloud sync
We will never ask you to create an account or provide any personal details. All data is stored in iCloud, it is not available to anyone except you.

• Shared Accounts
Do you want to share some of your accounts with someone else? No problems, you can share selected accounts via iCloud while keeping other accounts private. Great for managing family finances!

In the free version of the app you can create an unlimited number of transactions every day. However, to have more than two accounts in the app, you will need to purchase Premium version for $9.99.

Release Notes:

• Added option to save custom report settings as default for a particular report type. This option appears after you change default report settings.
• Budgets can be filtered by transaction tags. This is useful when you want to exclude a particular type of spending from a budget or to filter it by a specific event like a vacation.
• Option to carry over negative budget balances to next periods.
• Transaction amount is automatically calculated based on the amounts of entered split categories.
• Added "Pay With Custom Options" action for scheduled transactions. It allows you to pay a scheduled transaction with custom amount, date and optionally without updating the scheduled transaction itself. This is useful when a partial scheduled payment occurred and you don't want to change next payment date of a scheduled transaction yet.
• Currently selected account is suggested as default when importing transactions.
• CSV column selection is now automatically saved and used for the next import of a similar file when possible.
• Option in the "View" menu to display uncleared account balance in the sidebar.
• Account sidebar's width can be adjusted.
• Improved reliability of automatically processed scheduled transactions.
• Fixed bug when refunds were incorrectly calculated for "How much do I earn compared to my expenses?" report.
• Fixed bug when sometimes scheduled transfers could be incorrectly processed if multiple devices were synced.
This is the 13th free major update for Debit & Credit. If you like it, please leave a rating for the current version. Thank you for using Debit & Credit!

Love it - Perfect - I love this app. I enjoy how it syncs up my phone and computer. Having it ready and updated on the computer really helps when I am paying bills, I don’t have to keep going back and forth from my phone and computer screen. I reviewed this app once before and stated they did not have a ‘cleared’ button and I wish they did - After I said that within the next few updates… there was a cleared button! This app is perfect. It has helped me keep track of my life and has allowed me to save money as well. I can’t think of anything else I would need from the app developers at the moment - simply; it is perfect.

Very good for record keeping - I used this product for a year, then purchased Quicken; after a month I switched back to Debit & Credit. The developer is extraordinarily responsive. The things preventing me from giving that 5th star: Reconciliation: - needs search - needs alternating row colors - needs reorderable columns Budgets: - when viewing budget transactions, should only show value for the budgeted category on split transactions - should be able to limit the view by date range/period to allow viewing transactions in certain period (if I miss it on the last day of the month, I lose "remaining" and have to calculate by hand, see above comment) - needs ad hoc support: I get a one time gift of $20 and want to apply that to my entertainment budget for this period Main Window: - For planning, it would be nice to see the forecast balance for the next x number of days including scheduled transactions; perhaps a look-ahead including 1 instance of each scheduled transaction.

Easy to Use, Easy to Master, Consistent Development - I find the app a pleasure to use, but more importantly is its reliability. Unlike other finance trackers I’ve used, where the development stagnates (with valid reasons, I’m sure) and syncing is a hit-or-miss, this app shines. It is consistently updated and improved and never has syncing issues with any of my devices. If the developer comes out with a new and improved 3.0 version (that is a paid upgrade) I will definitely keep supporting it.

Still extremely frustrating and misleading if you care about reconciliation - If you don't care about statement reconciliation or accurate reconciled balances, this app paired with the iOS version is exactly what you are looking for and deserves a 5 star review. If you care about seeing accurate balances when reconciling against statements, this software deserves a negative 5 star review. Pros: - Entering and scheduling transactions is simple and intuitive. - Synchronization between the Mac OS version and the iOS version is excellent once you get past the initial setup. The workaround worked fine for me to get iCloud Sync set up. - The developer is quick to respond to any feedback you send except for the problem with reconciliation. He won't change anything until more people complain because apparently it is acceptable to have to manually calculate the real reconciled balance. Cons: - Importing your existing data can be a little confusing if you are importing more accounts than you've created by hand before starting the import. Any accounts that don't match up will be added to a random account so you need to pay close attention to where transactions are being mapped to. If you make a mistake, you need to delete all your accounts and start over. - Unless another money management tool will import data from a CSV file, this is pretty much a one way migration. You can import from Quicken files but you can't export it back to the same format. Major Problem: - If you are trying to reconcile your transactions against a statement or throughout the month and you have unreconciled transactions that are older than your newest reconciled transaction, the reconciled transaction view outright lies to you about the final balance as it includes the earlier unreconciled transactions even though they are hidden from view. There currently is no way to get an accurate balance of just reconciled transactions without manually adjusting the balance by viewing all transactions and subtracting the unreconciled transaction amounts from the latest total or exporting everything to a spreadsheet. According to the developer, this is by design and isn't going to be fixed unless he hears that this is important to more people. Please reach out to this developer and let him know that displaying an inaccurate reconciled balance is unacceptable regardless of the reasoning behind it.

Very impressed! - What a great app and what a savior solution to the dilema I had after the other app I had been using stopped working with iOS 10. I had about 9 years of my checking account register in that app, and was luckily able to export into a CSV file and import everything into Debit & Credit. I just finished reconciling two years of bank statements with the Mac app, and I use the iPhone version every day as I make purchases. Absolutely love the simplicity, design and “it just works” aspect of this app and the mobile version. I’m pleasantly surprised by how well and fast iCloud sync is between my Mac, iPad and iPhone. Well worth the price! On a personal note, there are 3 things I’d love to see added (even if they’re just options in preferences). First, I’d like checked transaction rows to highlight with some background color (or change the text color) during reconciliation (e.g. apply to the row when checked, remove from the row when unchecked). I think this would make it easier to find unreconciled transactions in the list during the actual reconciliation process. Secondly, I’d prefer the currency columns to be right aligned during reconciliation, but perhaps that’s just an American custom. Last, I’d love an option to represent whole numbers with trailing zeroes after the decimal point (another American custom?). For example, to show $25 as $25.00. I’d love to see this last feature as an option in all of the apps, not just desktop. Thanks for creating such a great app, and keep up the great work!!!

almost perfect - On the whole it works flawlessly on both my ios devices and my mac. Syncing has been very quick and accurate (unlike the program I used to use). Data entry is easy, with automatic offering of the rest of the payee and remembering the category which gets filled in automatically. I don’t understand the concern about reconciliation voiced by another user - I use it to reconcile statements and again it is easy and accurate, shows you the difference between what is in the app and the bank statement to the penny. Movement of funds between accounts and to credit accounts is done as a transfer of funds, so it accurately debits one account and credits the other (including credit card accounts) automatically. It has a number of pre-done, useful reports which can be edited. Includes the ability to schedule recurring transactions in advance - includes option to “pay now” if either a credit or debit happens before the scheduled time. The big reason for not giving 5 stars is I wish it had the option to show me a running balance - on both computer and ios devices - of what WILL be in the account, transaction by transaction, day by day, for current and FUTURE transactions, INCLUDING scheduled transactions (which are now hidden until they occur). This was the one thing my previous program did easily and it allowed much easier “what if” scenarios and knowing what I WILL have on a given date as a running balance, without figuring out a report. While the monthly statement reconciliation has worked well, figuring out how much money I actually have in an account TODAY and will have in a week has been much more confusing, despite the “future projections” part of the program. And I also wish, in addition to the pre-done reports, that I could simply create my own report, selecting the categories I want shown and the time period. This was another thing my previous program did - easier than figuring out if there already is a predone report and how to edit it to get what I want. The reason I switched programs was the syncing tho - this program does that quickly and reliably.
