Developer: Quandir Solutions

Current Version: 2.2

Last Updated: 3 years ago

Download Size: 588.6 KB - Download

Description:

Daydreamer can display the many webcam pictures to which URLs point and update them as often as you like. Daydreamer can even handle several pictures at once. What’s more, you can have Daydreamer make time lapse movies of the URL picture, adding a new frame to a movie each time the picture is refreshed. Daydreamer documents can be set to save each picture as it is downloaded, which lets you have a changing desktop or screensaver that reflects the current state of a webcam. You can save only the last picture that is downloaded, or all pictures.

Just fabulous... - After the upgrade to OS X 10.7, the viewer that I had been using to generate quasi-full-screen windows of my favorite webcams stopped working, and I couldn't find a replacement. Why 'Daydreamer' showed up in my searches now and not over the past year+ I don't know, but I am looking at wonderful views from two West Coast webcams as I write this. Hooray!!!! Two clarifications on the earlier reviewer's comments: (1) This app is like a DIY version of LiveCams Pro for the iPhone/iPad. Except instead of choosing from the list of Webcams they give you, you choose your own from anywhere on the Web. And if you have the bandwidth, you can set them to refresh at near real-time, e.g., 0.1 seconds, in a window separate from the site where they are hosted on the Web. That means NO surrounding text, ads, or other distractions. Just pure unadulterated viewing!!! (2) There is a brief but nice explanation of how to get started, etc., in the Help tab.

Did not work - I tried several webcams from around the world and could not get any of them to work. This may just be me, but for this to be a viable product it has to a easier to use.
