Superb in every way anticipating & satisfying all wants/needs. - Exceedingly effective in all ways. Automatically enters passwords in its database, enters passwords and user names (& credit-card data) in web sign-in and other forms and, when web-sites do not conflict, automatically moves the web site to the next post-sign in page. Synchronizes consistently with iPad and iPhone versions of the application and does this in a timely fashion. Fields are available to enter notes relating to web-sites and a segment of Dashlane is set aside for secure notes when notes and not passwords are what the user wants to keep. Although this is icing on its functional cake all versions of the app are handsome, easily navigated, and effective. Others have had problems of crashing and the like. I keep both mac and iOS device operating systems quite up-to-date and never, truly never, have experienced those or any other problems. A very fine application: they probably will think of some way of improving it, they frequently do, so perhaps I should not give it 5 stars which implies improvement is not possible; but compared with many apps, some Dashlane’s competitors, this application is as good as they get.

Frustrating - I’ve been using Dashlane for a while. At first it worked great but then it started having lots of problems - even though I pay extra for the “pro” version it doesn’t seem to like to sync the passwords across all my computers and devices as advertised, it often causes a severe lag and slowdown of my Mac, stuff like that. Unfortunately, the support department of Dashlane is a one-trick pony. They know of only one solution (spoiler: uninstall the App store version, download the version on their website, and when that breaks, uninstall and reinstall, over and over and over). They take a while to respond but it’s kind of pointless since they have only one stock answer and that’s all they send. I recently wrote to them about my iPhone version and they, of course, sent the same OS X letter that they’ve already sent a hundred times. I guess that’s all they know how to do, but of course that does me absolutely no good at all. When my paid subscription ends in a couple of months I will migrate back to 1Password. Unfortunately, I used Dashlane to generate all new, complicated passwords and that will be one pain to move over. But dealing with this app and their lack of support is not something I can do any longer.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROGRAM - From day 1, this was a nightmare. I guesstimate 40 hours of downtime to get your accounts unlocked…..and to call the banks where Dashlane would try to login with the wrong combination and get locked out. I don’t think I had more than 2 consecutive days where it worked without a problem. It was the most frustrating program I’ve ever dealt with. One day it works fine, wake up the next day and then it completely falls apart. I had worked long enough to try to force a work around for dashlane. Today was the final straw. It stopped working completely. I can’t use a program that is 100^% unreliable . So, I will now spend a lot more time changing all the passwords Dashlane created. But at least Safari will remmeber the right PW for a particular site every single time FOR FREE!

Memory Leak!! - This has a memory leak issue which slows my computer to a crawl! When I look at the activity monitor it shows Dashlane using up 20GB of virtual memory when it should be in the 400-500MB range. This has been a persistent issue on their technical support message boards but isn’t being addressed. Maybe bad ratings on the app store will make them fix it for their PAYING customers.

A Little Clunky - I really wanted to like this app. I even abandoned 1Password because of the mass password change tool (which is amazing). However, the day to day usage is pretty bad. I use Safari and it locks webforms and disallows input. It also trying to automatically log into pages that are not login pages. Tools like this should enhance the user experience not disrupt it. Dashlane doesn’t make things easier, it make it more difficult.

My thoughts.. - I did a lot of research on password management apps and I swear it came down to Dashlane and 1Password. There are things in both that I like and I wish both of them would just look at the other one and just add the fetures and options the other has and both would be the best in the market. Dashlane is a really nice and clean way to manage your passwords and much more. I will write an update review in a few month as I have both Dashlane and 1Password and paid for both to really give myself the full expericne. closing note, I definitely recomend Dashlane to anyone that needs a password manager. Cheers Ramin Mehrabani
