CopyPath is a simple app that helps in a big way, by taking the hassle out of copying file paths to the clipboard.

CopyPath makes it easy to copy the full paths or file and directory names of the selected items, the frontmost Finder window, or the desktop.

CopyPath uses Growl, and flashes the menubar icon, to notify you when paths have been copied.

Ideal Solution For A Common Problem - This app is a halmark example of how to solve a single problem with perfect excution. I wanted an easy way to copying the path to a file(s) and CopyPath solves the problem simply, elegantly and has every feature I could possibly want. After purchasing the app, simply drag and drop it onto the finder toolbar and you're good to go. Select any file(s) you want and click the CopyPath button. Don't select any files and the path to the containing folder is copied. Hold down the shift key and only the file/folder name is copied. You're notified via Growl that CopyPath excuted successfully and you can paste the information to your heart's content. Simple. Elegant. Exactly what I needed. Thank you.

Doesn - If you are looking for a tool to copy terminal paths, this isn't it. It only copys POSIX paths. For names with spaces in them, you need to precede the space with an escape '\' symbol. For example, "/Volumes/External\ Hard\ Disk". Unfotunately you will get only "/Volumes/External Hard Disk" with this tool which won't work for terminal usage. The other reviews here must not deal with any names that have spaces in them.

Great, and works in Yosemite - This is really great. Just click on the folder you want to copy the path of, and then click on the copy path icon in the menu bar on top of your screen. To quit it just command click on the menu bar icon and select quit or prefs. I love this app.
