Crashing Issues - I downloaded this game and it has been extremely fun to play! however i completed the first campaign and during one of the missions toward the end the campaign the game crashed suddenly. I didnt think anything more of it than the computer having a one time glitch, but once I moved on to the Market-Garden campaign the game started to crash on a regular basis. sometimes it will happen 20 minutes into a mission and other times it will happen almost instantly. I have saved my progress and tried to just load up the game after it crashes and move the mission forward little by little before it crashes again (which is extremely annoying!!) and now it will crash within 30 seconds of continuing from that save file. I am running the game on a mid 2010, 27 inch iMac using os x Lion 10.7.5 on a 2.93 ghz intel core i7 with the stock graphics card.
Company of heroes - I read the reviews for this game and decided that I must have it. I started downloading it and noticed that the time to download was about an hour and a half so I left the computer and attended to other things. A little over an hour later, I returned and was glad to see only about 15 minutes left, so I sat and waited. When it reached a point where time left was a minute or two, It stopped downloading and an error message stating "incomplete download". I paid around $20 for this game and I was not about to throw more money away so I decided to write to Apple. A little while later I was back to the App store and noticed in the purchased section, the word installed was over the icon of the game. Usually when apps are downloaded they appear in the dock but not this time, so I did a search of my Mac and found the game in the applications folder. I double clicked on it and waited, my screen turned white and that was it, it froze. I shut the power off and on and rebooted and tried again, same problem. After writing to the App store, they did credit my account. I do like action games but not if they do not work especially when they are around $20 a pop.

Yosemite has issues - Runs beautifully and easily at full graphics settings for about ten mintues. Then the game gets bogged down in RAM by some recursive Event Cue that is not user generated. Poor performance on Yosemite that REALLY detracts from the game. Aspyr doesn’t really seem to have any urgency in dealing with this issue either, since the game runs well on all pre x.10 systems. What a shame, because I’d love to play this game more, but the horrendous lagging caused by the bug is just a deal breaker. Otherwise, this is my favorite RTS of all time next to Warhammer and it’s a shame Aspyr is messing up Relic’s game. I bet Wine would run this game better than Apsyr’s middleware! Anyone have a PC copy they’d be willing to send me!?
I miss my fix of COA - Wish I never upgraded to Yosemite … COA lags, audio stutters not a good experience anymore. I doubt any fix will come along considering last support bulletin for this software was over a year ago !!
Buggy - I love the PC version but this version has some really rough edges. Bugs found: 1. Staghound skids for some reason. 2. Saved games are not sorted in anyway. It’s not sorted by name nor date. How hard would that have been to fix? Did they do any QA on this thing? 3. Units forget queued up commands upon loading a saved game. 4. Screwed up physics sometimes. I guess this happened on the PC version too but it seems to happen a lot more often on OS X. For example, watch entire squad get mowed down by MG squad even though they’re behind heavy cover sandbags in seconds. At the same time the MG squad was being fired on by my MG nest and no one dies. Got so annoyed by these things that I just deleted the whole thing.
Errors with Yosemite :-( - Great Game! However, since updating to Yosemite, the game speed has plummeted to the point of making the game unplayable. Additionally, there is a constant “Event Cue!” warning in the top left of the screen. If you are interested in this title, it is best you wait for them to update.
Great Addition to Epic RTS Genre - Company of Heroes combines great game play aspects from some of my favorite games from the past: SSL's Soilders at War and EA Command and Conquer Generals. It's not exactly the same in the sense you can't manage individual soilders, but rather management is at the squad level. The graphics and game play put you at the RTS equivalent of "Saving Private Ryan" action. I just got my new Mac Retina. I am not sure if it's optimized for this, but the graphics are incredible and you can zoom into any specific battlefield scene without system delays or slowness. Knowing that so much is happening on the battlefield when you zoom in that is very impressive. A must have for any strategic non-first player gameplayer or fan of World War II. I would say head to head or multiplayer option is needed to cap this out. It is not currently available for the Mac version as of this writing. Overall, great job. 4.5 stars rounded to 5. If it had multiplayer, this would be a perfect 5 rating.
