Love this game, zoom can be fixed manually, El Capitan update is still missing - Late 2015 iMac - in overall, the game runs pretty well. Zoom can be fixed manually (!!!). Join the facebook group C&C Generals Mac App Players and you will find posts how to fix the zoom. Nonetheless, if you upgraded your system to El Capitan, invitations do NOT get through; however, yosemite invitations do get through! Players are still waiting for an update to fix this issue. If you do fix the zoom manually, the game eventually crashes. This happens once in a while-not too often. If you insist to host games for you and your friends, you will need to create a backup of your system, do an internet-recovery, create a second partition, install yosemite on your new created partition, and use time machine backup for your normal first partition.

DO NOT BUY THIS FOR A MAC - This is the worst created game for a Mac that I have ever used. It crashes 90% of the time when trying to launch it. The other 10% of the time that it works, the zoom is horrible and the gameplay is sluggish. Don’t waste your money buying this game. Also, I entered a support ticket for the errors and never received a response. If you read the summary of the game by the developer, they acknowledge that the game crashes- but have not fixed it. Signing out of game center, restarting your machine, and then re-launching C&C works about 30% of the time. By the time you’ve done all of this, and the game still doesn’t work, you don’t even want to play it anymore. This company clearly does not take any pride in their product or support for their customers. Apple should remove this from the app store until the issue is fixed.

Does NOT play well with Mac. - Don’t waste your money. Rebooting computer does not solve crashing problem. I have also uninstalled and reloaded the game at least a half dozen times. Sometimes it works for a single play….most time it’s just frustrating and you get ZERO tech support on this. I finally stopped bashing my head against the wall and admitted that I’d been had! I have permanantly deleted this game. If these guys were honest, they’d wouldn’t try to sell us this junk!

Constant Crashes - This Game was great when i first got it. I used to love this game on pc. Funny thing is on pc it worked a whole lot better. I havent had the Start-up Crashing. My game starts and loads just fine. Get into a game and then about 15-20 minutes into it it suddenly crashes and force closes everything. No point in playing a campaign. Cant play with friends. The game has to be rebooted and i have to start over. And the developers have recieved multiple tickets from me and still no fix or solution to this problem. Command and Conquer is a great game, If you are on a PC. Dont bother getting this game for Mac. Youll waste your money and your time, and only frustrate yourself to the point of hating the game because it never works.

Good game but zoom is deal breaker - Late 2015 iMac - Game runs very well on my iMac, gameplay itself is fun, but honestly have not spent that much time playing because of the zoom issue you’ll hear about when reading reviews. The view is way to ‘zoomed in’, way to close to the ground. Its very frustrating - moving up down side to side is tedious, and at times nauseating, i resort to clicking on the mini map to navigate, even if its close by. I dont care what the developers say, i’ve played versions of this game in the past (tiberium sun my fav) the view was not as close as it is now. I researched a bit about how to solve the issue myself, found what i thought would be a resolution (adding a few lines of instruction to the INI file via TextEdit) but ended up irrepably damaging the file. Time to uninstall/reinstall, but I feel no sense of urgency due to my above complaints. Bottom line, huge fan of the series overall, but to me the zoom issue makes game unplayable.

Fix Crash and Fix View for Modern Monitors - I’ve enjoyed playing this game with my brothers now for the past decade. I was thrilled that they had an easy to download Mac edition. However, the view is just like it was 10 years ago. Monitors have improved in the past decade: it would be very nice to be able to see more of the battlefield. I don’t really care about the extra detail on the tanks while my brothers are pounding my troops… Update: App really doesn’t work well with macOS Sierra (10.12). It crashes 90% of the time time I try to load the game. Not worth purchasing till they get the game fixed since it won’t load.

Won’t start completely - I have yet to get the game to start up completely. About 1 out of 3 tries it will get to the title screen and then dies. I found a notice that they were having issues with El Capitan back in October, but is is Feb. Seriously, you couldn’t get a fix for this in 5 months? Come on guys!!!
