»Colored« enables you to create stunning color palettes and supports all common formats.
With Colored you’ll create stunning color palettes in just a few seconds. Just choose a primary color—Colored then generates well-matching colors on the fly. Discover tones, shades, tints as well as complementary, triadic and analogous colors. Export your color in common formats like #HEX, RGB (i.e. HTML/CSS) or NSColor/UIColor (Obj-C and Swift) with just one click.

A real programmers’ color picker with an artistic sense built in! - I was just looking for a functional color picker to compute RGB values in the 0.0 to 1.0 range for some MacOS coding (no dividing by 255 at runtime nonsense), but this slick app is sooo much more. The “Tones”, “Shades”, “Tints”, “Analog”, “Tiadic” and “Compl[iment]” palettes are brilliant! They give even the most chromatically challenged coder an easy way to show some style in their designs (no art school needed). I wasn’t really paying close attention to the preview screens when I downloaded this app (it’s free and was not the first I tried) so when I lauched it for the first time, I was blown away by the magic happening on the entire right side of the UI. The color you pick instantly becomes the main attraction in a smorgasbord of pallette bars the offer related color choices. Your color is present in each palette along with one to six other choices (depending on the palette). This app is beyond nice! The built-in “knowledge” of basic color relationships is tremendously valuable. Thanks! P.S. The code generator is a nice touch if you like that sort of thing. :)
Too Limited - No eyedropper to choose colors. No back button. If you click on any color in the palettes on the right there’s no way to go back to the previous color. Nice design but lacks in basic, critical functionality.
