Description:

Issue with multiscreen setup for Mavericks users is now solved!

Get the most elegant color picker on the App Store!
Color Picker is designed for ultra quick access and to quietly get out of your way when you are done picking. The color will be available in the pasteboard.

Compatible with Lion, Mountain Lion and Mavericks (only single-monitor support in Mavericks, a fix is under development),
Color Picker resides in your menu bar once you have launched it. When you press the icon, it will immediately freeze the screen, starting to track your mouse and the color beneath it. It will show a resizable zoom-in window displaying the area around the mouse pointer so that you can select a single pixel with great precession.

When you click on a pixel you will be presented with a menu containing the selected color formatted in a wide range of formats.

Different formats like decimal, hexadecimal and percentage are available as well as immediate creation of color objects for many popular programming languages. If you need any additional format, send us an e-mail and we promise to add it for the next release!

Features:
- 24 different color coding formats
- Resizable zoom window
- Named colors for Visual Studio, Cocoa and HTML
- Select a default format or get a selection each time
- Full multi-monitor support
- Resides in menu bar for quick access
- Optional auto-start with OSX

Works as advertised. - I've had this for a couple of months and I just want to say that it has definitely been worth the $2 I paid for it. It's easy to get a nice fast and effieicent workflow going with this app. (What I use this for is generating UIColor statements in Obj-C.)

icon still black in dark mode after installing 2.3 - I like the app, but the icon problem is annoying. I installed 2.3 to fix it, but it does not fix it.

Update promises Dark Mode support but does not deliver - Seriously - if you're going to say you support Dark Mode, you should actually support it. I'm running the latest version of Color Picker on 10.10.2.

Works perfectly, with one exception - Okay, this product is awesome and as a designer I use it many times a day. It’s unobtrusive and works exactly how I like it (set to automatically copy the #hexcode to my clipboard) and it’s simply always there for me to use. It never crashes or bugs out. The ONE PROBLEM I’ve had with this app is not actually the app’s fault, but certain designers should keep this in mind: The tool tells you the color of the pixel on the screen - that’s it. If you have your monitor set up with a custom or non-standard color profile, that means your mac is correcting it before it hits your screen. So, if you are trying to copy colors from a website with this tool, be sure to go to Preferences > Displays > Color > and set Display Profile (for all displays!) to “Color LCD”. Anything else is a crap shoot, and you may not be getting the color you want. Of course, this is an advantage if you want to know the actual color your eyeballs are seeing and are trying to replicate that instead of what the subject application is calling for.

White menu bar icon for dark mode? - This looks like it could be a very useful utility, but I use dark mode and I can find no way to switch the menubar icon to white. Even a short bit of documentation on the website would be helpful instead of a bunch of quotes raving about the product. I don’t care what others think at this point, I PURCHASED THE APP. What I want to know is the most effective ways to USE it.
