5 stars… at the discounted price ($15) - For what this app does, the $200 original price is asinine; for the $15 they are asking now, it’s a STEAL. It makes creating cinemagraphs - something that can be done in Photoshop, albeit much more time consuming - incredibly simple, while adding some output options that aren’t available in other programs. Don’t get fooled by the quick demo videos online - you can do a quick job in a few seconds, but if you take your time a bit, you can create some beautiful results with this software. This isn’t something that gets used for substantial portion of my portfolio and website, but for the occasional image with a little something extra, it’s wonderful.

Easy to use, completely not worth it - Great app idea to make cinemagraphs more accessible to the masses. The app is easy to use and straight forward. Unfortunately this is completely negated by the ridiculous pricing and in-app purchases that are required to get anything at all out of this. You want to get rid of the watermark? Fork over $200. At that price level this is more expensive than Adobe Photoshop which was and is still one of the most complete ways to creating a cinemagraph. Then on top of that if you want to be able to share your “Flixels” (no clue why they are trying to create another term for cinemagraph) on other web properties, you need to have another subscription. I would buy this in a heartbeat if they lowered it to say…$10?

Nice little app. Jaw-dropping, ridiculous pricing. - I buy a lot of software. I’m not worried about spending money on a good app. I’ve had a few experiences where I’ve thought “Huh, that’s a little pricey” when seeing the price of an app. This was the first time I’ve thought “What? Did I miss something? You cannot possibly be serious…” Not just $200, but $200 per year? That if I keep this for 5 years, you expect me to pay $1000 to make some animated gifs? I like the idea of a company being proud of their app and thinking it should make money. But Flixel are significantly overestimating their own importance, and their value. There ARE apps I’ll spend $200 (or more) on. This app is simply not in that caliber.

$200!? Insane when Photoshop Pro for $10/mo does the same thing - Downloaded the demo, loved the product, had a great video I was in love with in less than an hour. Then went to export, and was asked to pay the $200 pricetag, not mentioned anywhere beforehand. Google “How To CinemaGraph”, and found 10 great 2 minute videos on how to make the same video with Photoshop Pro using the $10/mo pay structure. Did it in the same night and cancelled that membership and ended up paying nothing. No one thinks this is a decent price, get with the times CinemaGraph Fools.

Looks Great, but Too Expensive - Great tool, but way to much to spend on just a tool.
