Only for people with 3D background - As a graphic designer, I have zero experience with 3D programs. ALL I wanted to do was texture map a graphic of my own creating onto a sphere. Simple, right? Not at all. There are literally hundreds of parameters, submenus and options in this program. Without spending a minimum of 6 hours in the tutorials, you will get nowhere fast. And I'm not sure that even after that much time, I'd be any further ahead. The interface is gorgeous and they did a great job on that, but this program is SO not for beginners and it is NOT AT ALL easy to learn. I still can't get the texture onto the sphere.

This is not a well-made application - I’ve worked with a number of 3D applications over the years. Cheetah 3D is at the bottom of the list, in my opinion. The interface is clumsy to the point that creating simple objects is a time-consuming and often counter-productive headache. I tried to give this application the benefit of the doubt several times, but, inevitably, I grew frustrated with it to the point where I felt no other choice but to uninstall Cheetah 3D and consider my purchase a waste of money.

For the price, there is nothing else close - What an amazing package. I’m not much of a designer, and I think Cheetah3D could benefit from fuller documentation, but everytime I learn something new in it I’m amazed that I have access to this level of technology.

Has Potential, But Terrible Documentation - If you are considering ths software and have never used it before note that the developer does not publish any kind of reference manual or user’s guide. All you get is an online link to where you can spend triple what the software costs to buy third-party manuals, most of which you can’t preview before buying and turn out to be worthless . About the only way you can learn this software is by experimenting through trial and error and the user forums.
