TRY THIS APP FIRST!! Fantastic!! - This app does exactly what it says it will do: combine multiple audio files into a single file. It does this quickly AND with a minimum of effort on the part of the user! And it does it FAST! Some audiobook apps force you to manually enter each chapter title. Others do not allow more than a certain number of files,… but you won't know it until the app chokes at 80% forcing you to figure (and re-figure) the numbr of files to use, remember which files you used, figure proper title sequence or attempt to correct metada later, etc! ChapterMark has a VERY clean, attractive, user-friendly user interface. There's almost no learning curve. It pulls in the name of each file and makes chapters with titles. You can drag and drop cover art and quickly key in title, author and date. Metadata for a selected file is shown at the bottom of the screen next to the quality setting as an easy reference for setting adjustment. It even calculates the optimum file size and divides each audiobook into equal parts correctly!! When handling in excess of a 200 file compilation this app is blessing!! I number my files with leading zeros because of how files are automatically ordered in many apps. This allows correct file order automatically. If you choose not to use leading zeros or if you have no numbers at all, ChapterMark allows you to drag and drop files in the order you desire!! Avoid the suffering. Purchase this app first! I truly wish I did!!

Not for all - The app does not allow options in sorting file names. Track 10 follows track 1, track 20 follows track 2 so if your file names are not in the right format this app won't work for you.

Good but does need batch processing - This app has done a good job at converting my audiobooks from multiple mp3 files to 1-4 m4b files and adding the correct tags etc. I really wish I could queue up several then let them convert overnight. That would make this a 5 star app. The UI is simple and clean and it is very intuitive. It converts the files very fast considering their individual lengths. If you do have several audiobooks you need to convert it will take you a while since you have to wait until each one is done to configure and start a new one for converting. Please add batch processing please.

Buy It! - This is a great app! I've been using JoinTogether up till now, and ChapterMark is at least 10x faster encoding the audiobook. The interface is cleaner and easy to use, plus, my audiobooks now have chapters again! This is a steal at 99¢. As other reviewers have said, it would be nice to have batch processing, but the average book takes under 5 minutes to encode on my 2011 MacBook Pro, so it's really not that big of a deal.

The Best and the Least Expensive - I've used several programs now to do what ChapterMark does, and none of them are as simple, fast or reliable. It's so easy to get the files in to ChapterMark! If you've got a playlist of multiple files in iTunes, you can just drag and drop them right in to the application window and ChapterMark reads all of the available metadata, automatically inserting cover art, title, author and date. I found it stupendously easy to set up custom output quality, and the conversion is both reliable and fast. Naming and ordering of chapters is very easy as well. If you have multiple files to join into a single, chapterized format, this is the program to get. Now, if the program could be improved in any way, I would add the ability to group multiple files into the same chapter as well as splitting a file into multiple chapters. I don't think this would be very easy to implement and, for 99¢, I don't think I could expect such a feature to be included. Short of this, ChapterMark is perfect!

Great!!! Just need to create encoding queues - This app is amazingly helpful, and it's already saved me several times its value in my time. One thing that would make it better would be to add an encoding queue a la Handbrake. Minus one star for only using one core to do the encodes, even on a 12-core Mac Pro. Also, when importing CDs, there is no way to correct it if it gets the wrong information. iTunes recognizes the CD for what it is. What incorrect source is ChapterMark using? Minus one star for not prompting me to choose the correct CD information. Even if you're only starting with one audio book's worth of CDs, this app is probably worth buying.
