Version 1.2.0

It works! - Ever since they removed the ability to create chapters in GarageBand, I had been looking for a way to get this feature back. Previous versions of Chapter Maker were not always stable. This version seems to work smoothly. I just created a movie lasting almost 25 minutes. I was able to type in the chapter titles without any problems this time. I was also able to view them in iTunes. Thanks for this update!

Version 1.2.1
Review by Penguin Nation Studios

Doesn’t work - I purchased this application (version 1.2.1) a few months ago because I needed to add chapters to one video (.m4v format). It seemed simple and was cheap so why not give it a try. I had tried it and received an error message when I tried to save the chapters.I was told to try again later. I tried multiple times with the same video file and it didn’t work. I thought maybe the file may have been the problem despite it playing back fine in iTunes, and AppleTV. So I decided that I just wouldn’t add chapters to that video. Months have gone by and I have another file that needs chapters so I give this application a try once again. Same results, with a different video but same video format as before, .m4v. In my opinion, this apllication does not work. If it had at least worked this second time I would given this application another chance later down the line when needed, but as it sits now I will simply delete it from my computer and take it as a loss. I would not recommend you waste your time or your money on this application as it did not work for me at all. Others have reviewed this as good and functioning, that is why I purchased it, but both were 2 different versions. You may have better luck running it on your Mac. I was running it on a Mac Mini, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Dou, OS 10.9.2. and my videos I tried to add chapters to were about an 1 hour 30 minutes long. Maybe this would work with smaller file length and size, I don’t know.

Version 2.0.3
Review by Brazad

A needed tool that needs some work - I was so happy to find this tool since Apple has removed the ability to add chapters easily like before. Chapter Marker works, but it is very temperamental. I added about 12 chapters to a movie. Before saving, I realized that I made a mistake and reversed the order of 2 chapters. I went back to edit them and everything got a bit wonky. Suddenly the playhead would not show where it actually was. I tried to chaged the text of a maker and I would not let me. I delted the marker to re-add it, and the app would not let me. Usually this kind of behavior precedes an app crash, so I am trying to save my current work. Then I will quit the app and try again. I will gladly update my review after an appropriate fix. Thanks

Please do not buy - I should’ve listened to the reviews, this app is sincerely garbage. I just flushed my money down the toilet by purchasing this- it does not do what you’re looking for. Search on, this is not the answer.

Version 2.0.3

sonicsword - Trying to avoid another import/export into 2 versions of iMovie, I read the reviews, rolled the dice on this one and lost. Components of the UI quickly get so outta sync you can’t tell what your doing. Having to hit pause to update the Title field is nuts. It’ll place markers, but without control OR feedback of what the timecode is, your marker and title (if you’re lucky) aren’t in the right place. This app is a waste of time AND money. I wouldn’t recommend it even if it was free.
