Extremely useful - This app is exactly what I needed while writing -- It gives you a reminder when you move away from the core applications essential to your task and keeps track of how you spend your time.

Really good time tracking app - 1.) If you don’t think the app is open, it’s not going to launch an open window. You have to watch for the “eyeball” icon to show up in your top menu bar (right beside the volume/bluetooth/wifi/date/time/User). If you have Yosemite, OS X 10.10.5, or El Capitan, and your Mac is set to “Use Dark Menu bar and Dock” on under System Preferences/General/Apperance you WON'T see the eyeball icon easily but it’s there (which is something the developers should correct, or not — if you’re using it on a Mac that your company doesn’t allow 3rd party stuff on). I just happened to look at my Mac at a different angle and noticed the dark eye in the bar! 2.) I love that you can program this to say my task will include Word & InDesign but if I’m interrupted and have to jump into IM, Photoshop or Excel, it alerts you that it will pause itself until you return to the first two. Awesome. That’s my day in a nutshell. And that nutshell. And that one. And that one... 3.) I think the final calculations or the verbiage for it should be a little more comprehensive. This is my reason for 4 stars. I have to enter my time into my work’s official time tracker program, and I’m not quite getting an apples to apples translation on this. I just need (Time Estimated to finish project)+(Additional time beyond Estimate)-(Time not spent on project)=Total time actually spent on project. I use Chaperone because I can get a more accurate “time spent away from project” instead of my work’s log into site A, click here, click there, click here, timer start, pause, start again, finish, oops not finished, start again, lose original time, pull hair out, reopen new timer start, finish, add time from first timer it erased.

Good app but wish it had a few more features - Biggest additions that would be huge - ability to change a Task Length once a Task has been started, ability to create a Task to account for past time when Chaperone wasn’t used, and ability to assign Projectless Tasks to a Project. Other than that, solid app.
