Mostly dreadful - This game looks and acts like shovelware. Even $1 was a waste of money. For a Mac app in 2011, there is no excuse to run in this low video resolution (other reviewers have noted how this affects gameplay), force full screen mode, and (perhaps worst of all) not allow app switching while the game is running! I'll happily revise this review to 3 stars if the game is updated to run in a window, for Pete's sake.

Terrible - I played canasta frequently as a kid. This version is horrible. First of all, their is absolutely no challenge. It has NO ability to get more challenging as the program doesn’t perceive my ability at all. It only plays one way, with absolutely no strategy. I played many games and I won all but one. Secondly, it doesn’t even play by the rules of canasta. I really feel jipped! Don’t bother paying for this!! Waste of time and money. Shame on you Apple for approving this!

Deck is stacked!! - This is horrible!! In the first 6 deals I received exactly 3 high cards. All the rest were 4's, 5's, 6's and 7's!! The opponent got all the great cards. This happened in all 20 games I played. Not fun for the opponent and, I agree with the other review that this is NOT the way you play canasta which I played every day when I was younger. It could be fun but needs a LOT of tweaking. CC

Poor programming, crashes frequently - What more is there to say? I was enthusiastic about getting a canasta game, and then it turns out that this thing crashes ALL the time. Don't spend your money on this game, you will just get frustrated. If you DO decide to get it, always play it in windowed mode. That way when it inevitably freezes (and it will freeze) you will be able to quit the program instead of having to restart your computer.
