Whether books line every wall of your house or barely fill one shelf, Bookpedia is the perfect application to help you keep track of them. Entering the information for each book is fast and easy since the program retrieves all the information from the Internet for you. So you can sit back and relax with a good book.
Bookpedia gives you access to numerous international book sites as well as Doghouse, Bookpedia's own media server, the Library of Congress and libraries attached to the z39.50 server system. Search for your books using keywords - title, author, publisher, ISBN etc. - or scan the UPC and let Bookpedia do the rest.
Create smart collections and start a wish list for those books you don't own yet and a borrowed collection for those you want back. View your entries as a standard list, browse only the covers or use the info view for a personalized look of Bookpedia. Share your collections with friends using the customizable HTML export templates and learn more about your own collection with the Statistics feature. Bookpedia comes with full Spotlight integration.

Good application, very flexible - This is a good application. My wife and I just moved 700 books into a couple of different Bookpedia libraries quickly and efficently using a barcode scanner. Lots of flexibility including ten custom renamable fields, several different views with customizable column order, collections and smart collections to group books in a variety of ways, good search and sorting capabilities. I added a Cuisine field for cookbooks, then was able to select individually a couple of dozen cookbooks from a collection of 500 and set their Cuisine column to "Mexican" in one step. Again, seems to be a very flexible application. The database is in Sqlite so I was also able to extract some data, manipulate it in a particular way and put it back (not something everyone could do or would want to do, but I was happy it could be done). The developer is very responsive both on their forum and in response to support emails. We were moving from BookCat on Windows and are very happy with Bookpedia (and have also now purchased their DVDpedia app).
Nice application, but update won't download. - Running OSX 10.8.5 on my Mac. App Store says there's an update for Bookpedia, but it won't load. Trying to update returns this message: Bookpedia failed to download Use the Purchases page to try again. But trying to update from the Purchases page returns the same message. What's wrong? And please fix it!
