Makes up for iWork Short Coming. - I wish it were possible in iWork which is supposed to be a desktop publisher as well as a Word Processor to make booklets. Unfortunately they left out this key feature. Book lighting can take any .pdf including one produced by iWork and make it into a booklet. I downloaded it for an iWork project but found myself using it for several other .pdfs that I had. It works perfectly and is simply awesome!

Does just what it says - Simple and works. Just create a pdf of your booklet (use any app you want) with a page size of 5.5 x 8.5 (half sheet), drop it on the BookLightning icon in the dock, then print the new file (the converted pdf BookLightning creates) with double sided printing.

Did exactly what I needed - many thanks! - Once you see what the plan is: format word processing document appropriately, save to PDF, open or print from this app - it does exactly what it says it will. It does it so quickly that I didn't mind if I needed to go back to the word processing part to re-do or fix something because the process was so fast. It took WAY longer to get my printer to cooperate for doing the two-sided copying, LOL. In the old days when cutting and pasting involved scissors and rubber cement, we'd make a little scrap paper mockup just showing the page placements so the print version would come out with the pages in the right order. This is what I've always wished Word or Pages would do, but it's probably better than if it was incorporated in either of those. It's not such a big deal to figure out how four pages should be laid out to print correctly in booklet form, but to do more than a handful of pages in a word processing or page layout software is just too silly. My only wish for future feature would be for a wider range of outputted paper sizes.

This does exactly what it says - I am very happy. I paid for this, and within 45 seconds, I had a usable booklet from a PDF I already had. I printed duplex on my laser printer, project done. I don't know what complex operations I will someday want, but if you want a regular document turned into a simple booklet, this thing does it. I tried several free and freemium options, and was very frustrated. My only complaint is that I can't seem to get the icon to appear in the DOCK. that is just weird.
