Description:

Battery Guard tells you how long your battery will last! It is a fully featured, enhanced replacement for the battery tray icon that comes with your Mac.

Battery Guard shows the time left on your battery right next to its icon! If you'd rather show the percent charge, you can see that too.

Clicking on the icon opens a panel to quickly see loads of useful information about your MacBook's battery:
- charge level
- capacity
- original capacity
- time remaining

It's FREE! No reason not to download it right now! Enjoy!

If you would like to get rid of the built-in battery monitor:

1) Go to System Preferences -> Energy Saver.
2) Uncheck the box at the bottom that says: "Show battery status in menu bar".

Menubar app - I love that it's a menubar app, no window or anything to get in your way. I only needed this app to see how well my battery has been holding up after 2 years of use. Thanks for a nice and simple app!

Doesnt work with OS X 10.9 - Just installed this and doesnt seem to work with OS X 10.9 Nothing shows up in the tool bar/status bar at the top, just a blank icon. Hopefully they get this fixed because its exactly what I was hoping to find on the app store.

Shows the time left - When I upgraded to ML, the "time left" view of the battery was gone. This app brings it back, yeah!!!

A perfect battery app - this is just the perfect app for battery power. stop looking and get it now. It works with mountain lion as well as lion. For those looking for a complicated battery app with lots of gadgets, don't choose this. This is plain quality but nothing more. It is perfect, without being loaded with effects no one ever uses.

claims to warn at 10% battery but doesnt - For a few years now OSX and macbook power management is so bad that each time I am getting to the point where the system should just suspend until connected again, and I am in a fullscreen game where I dont see the battery status, I end up having to reboot the system. This app was supposed to help work around this apple software quality issue, and it doesn’t, same thing happened again. No audible alert, the system just blanks out and quikly connecting the power cord does not prevent it from becoming unresponsive fror a long time, usually comes back up one more time then blanks again just as I am working on it again, then eventually have to reboot to regain control over the system. This app could be great if it had an audible alert, but it doesn’t.

Best battery app I've seen - I've tried a few battery apps. I prefer this one for its interface. The battery information is in a drop down menu from the menu bar (as opposed to a new window like in some other apps). One can also set the menubar's display settings to state percentage of battery left, or time left on battery. I would appreciate an update that enables one to remove the icon, and just display the time left / percentage charged.
