Description:

Wirelessly stream ANY audio on your Mac to one or multiple Sonos speakers and play in perfect sync! The music on your Mac now can be heard everywhere in your house with a much better sounding experience!

To see how this app works, please watch a demo video: http://bit.ly/2gYAb6e

* Stream Video & Audio Files
Without format limits, this app can stream not only music files, but also video files' sound to Sonos speakers! It supports virtually all audio and video formats, including MP4, MP3, OGG, FLAC, AVI, WAV, APE, RMVB, MKA, MKV, and many more.

* Live Audio Streaming
Optionally, you can use the app to send your Mac’s audio to your Sonos speakers, LIVE!
It flawlessly works with ANY audio of ANY application on your Mac, including music players like iTunes or Spotify, web browsers like Safari or Google Chrome, and media players like VLC or QuickTime. Any audio on your Mac can now be played on your Sonos speakers for much better listening experiences!

- Live audio streaming is an optional feature and may need a free audio driver: http://bit.ly/2vZA7Jy
- There might be a slight delay when streaming live audio. If you want to watch videos with the audio sent to Sonos speakers, it’s recommended to use “VLC Player” to play them, and then use hotkeys (“F” & “G”) to adjust the audio until it’s fully synchronized with the video.

For live audio streaming, the app provides volume booster and 10-band audio equalizers & effects, so you can get instant audio quality enhancement in real-time! All EQ adjustments are preserved when you send the audio to connected devices. And you can even save those changes in the equalizers as custom effects for later usage.

* Play to Multiple Speakers, in Sync
The app now can even stream music to multiple Sonos speakers simultaneously and play in perfect sync! This can be done by creating groups for your Sonos speakers in the app or in the “Sonos Controller” App on your phone.

Thanks to Audio Cast for Sonos Speaker, your music is now everywhere!

Works as Advertised, Tech Support is Responsive and Helpful - Version 2.1.0 works as advertised. I installed the previous version (2.0) this morning. The application worked, but it also had a few bugs and it didn’t accommodate speaker groups/pairs. I contacted tech support and received a prompt response. The developer was aware of the issues and had already released an update to Apple (pending approval). I received a follow-up email a few hours later indicating that the update had been approved and was currently available on the App Store. The updated app automatically detected the existing stereo pairs/groups. I’m able to detect a small delay in audio for videos/movies. This is a well known limitation of the hardware and streaming protocol (documented on the wmacapps.com site with suggested work-arounds). The delay is minor, and basically meaningless when video is not involved. I was looking for software to replace the Sonos app, mainly to play music. I’d been using Vox, but they just removed Sonos speaker streaming/casting from their free offering in the latest update. I wasn’t interested in buying a subscription to their premium service, especially for limited functionality (audio file playback only). This app appears to be the solution. I’m now happily streaming/casting audio to two different stereo pairs/groups, from high quality FLAC files (24 bit / 192 kHz), videos/movies, and other random sources on my Mac. Neither of the previously mentioned apps supported this range of functionality. If you’re looking for simple way to access your Sonos speakers, without having to deal with limited software, then you should consider this app. It gets out of the way and gives you access to the speakers you already own. Overall, I’m happy with this app. It’s exactly what I was looking for. Some opportunities for improvement: 1. greater control over stereo channels in speaker pairs/groups, 2. ability to map keyboard shortcuts to volume controls. Edit: by the time I was done writing this review, I had already received another follow-up from the developer. It seems that they’re already working on the issue of providing greater control over stereo channels in speaker groups.

Version 2.0

Gambled and lost - The appeal of a tool like this is obvious but the tool itself stopped working almost immediately. Assigned two Sonos speakers to the app, played a single one minute wav file as a test. Now the app repeatedly crashes when I select a Sonos speaker from the app.

No need to buy this - Sorry I spent this, but that’s what you get for not exploring the built in options first. There is NEVER any reason to buy this.
